How To Draw A Realistic Animal Eye / Full Tutorial

Фильм және анимация

Hi everyone! In this video I focused on how to draw a realistic leopard eye in tutorial format. Primarily showed and explained the process of how to draw realistic fur and an eye. I hope you all liked this video and found it helpful. Another fur tutorial will be coming out a bit later as well as the full time-lapse drawing of the leopard, when its finished of course. I hope you all liked it. Let me know what you think.

Hey, sorry I realize I left out what paper to use. When doing this technique you do need to use a thicker than standard paper. Something like printer paper or standard art paper will not work, it has to be notably thicker. I don't know the weight of paper to use, but in terms of feel, something like a poster board paper or thicker is optimal. So in the future when you can go to an art store or craft store, feel the paper and you'll get a good idea of what you can use. I've used Strathmore 400 series paper (thicker version) in the past with great success, and a few cotton papers. Just see what available to you, and I'm sure you'll be able to make it work. Hope that helps!!

@@jinxed5750 The guy spent around half an hour explaining his drawing process (and much longer if you include filming, editing and uploading etc.) and that's the reply you give?! That's pretty rude. Thankfully you're in the minority.

im trying this out right now looking great although i didnt have that tool you were using to make an indent so i used an old worn out gel pen on the paper to make an indent work perfect so say for example you dont have that tool just used an old worn out gel pen works well anyway this is so amazing and im rlly proud of my drawing so far :).

About 35 years ago, I accidentally did this process in my wildlife drawings! I had my pencil sharpener poorly and the hard wood gouged the paper while I was making the fur texture. I thought I had messed my piece up but deep down I loved the effect! I was actually terrified I that id ruined my piece so I tried to avoid rather than dive into the accidentally discovered technique. Haha. It looked cool though but I never reached your mastery I’ll tell you that much lol. You are amazing! Thank you for showing your process. Maybe I’ll actually even bring out my paper and start drawing again and give this a try as an intentional technique!! 😃😃

A local art store often gets it in, so I'm not sure exactly how they order it. Another paper I often use is the Strathmore 400 series bristol paper. I do like that one and it is thick enough for my technique. I can't say if you embossing tool is too thick or not thick enough, it all depends what type of fur you're trying to do. you'll just have to test it out and see. :)
