Thank you for this video. I am trying to follow along. I am a beginner. What size sketch pad should I use. I have 9x12 is that the right size to follow your videos? Also, I have sketch pencils, but they are not dark enough for shading, Which do you recommend?

Hi Delores, I use A4 paper, which is 8x11, so 9x12 is fine. I use a 4B pencil and I choose Faber-Castell as they made a very dark tone. With another brand you might need a 6B pencil to get really dark tones. Also the paper I use is bright, that makes the darks look darker. Need a good eraser for the paper you use and you can smudge tonal values with the side of the eraser. Hope the drawing goes well. I post one a week. Kind regards Tom
