That's really cool. When I took an art class in college, we had an assignment to a 3D drawing. It was a lot of fun, and the result made me smile to realise what I had created.

Yeah I thought the thumbnail was an actual steel letter M bent up, thought the thumbnail was clickbait but when I swiped my finger to scroll down I accidentally caused the preview and saw the pencil role across and was like wait, WHAT!? Had click at that point, there was no option

Even watching you shade the letter, it looks like you are working with a real 3D letter! You go “up” the letter, you squeeze in between the feet of the M to put in shadows! It’s awesome!

Very cool! The cut paper really makes the art pop!

@@cindyjurgens1392 He does it right at the end to finish the illusion. The one thing that actually got me was the top of the 'M' is actually higher that the paper. Until I saw him cut it off I was convinced.

That's what threw me off. I was trying my best to find a 2d perspective but i couldnt cause the cutting made it look like the M was literally floating off the page. I could see it from a 2d perspective until that point

When I got old enough to hold a pencil I started drawing. Until I got old enough to get a job, the only tools I had were #2 pencils and black Bic pens. I know what you can do with next to nothing. This video still fascinates me. I love to watch other artists work.

I like how event from the top-down view which typically breaks the illusion, the illusion still persists enough to seem convincing. Well done!

This is a testament that you don’t need a bunch of unnecessary expensive tools to create amazing work.

just incredible! but I wish you had listed all the supplies you used. You only mention 2 writing instruments in the description, but I know you used like 3 different types of pencils, a marker and such. It would be helpful for those of us watching who may want to give it a try.

I liked it and gave it a thumbs up but my guess as to why there are some downvotes would be that it is titled "HOW TO..." and yet there is no discussion about the actual process as he is doing it. Nothing on what the various pencils, erasers etc. that are being used and why... to create what effect. I think most people see things titled "HOW TO" and expect an actual tutorial with instruction.
