This is just a Ubuntu vm that you keep running dedicated solely for torrenting? You only put a torrenting client and vpn on it right?
Hey great video! Having issues with the vm not being able to talk to any of the other machines on my network while connected to the VPN. This prevents me from being able to use the desktop webui. Any idea on how to fix this?

If I set the VM network type to NAT, and have the VPN running on the host pc. I check my IP with VPN on both host pC and vm. The IP is masked in both cases and same with when I run DNS leak test. Does this mean the vm is safe without having the run the client inside the vm?

If you do an ip leak test and it’s showing the vpn ip then you are fine.
So can I use a vpn extension with the web ui and be fine?

No . Vpn alone wont hide your traffic. It just change you Ip
