  • @SeanOrange

    SethG You can, but it isn’t necessary; you only need the account to access the eShop. After that, you can play with any normal account already attached to your Family Plan. You could even remove the Japanese account from your Switch if you choose, but you’d still need it to download new software if anything else comes out in the future - like the Super Famicom channel that was released after this video was made.

    Would renewing your English Switch Online account also renew your Japanese acount?

  • @SeanOrange

    @SeanOrange

    4 жыл бұрын

    It’s better to think of your account as renewing access to the games installed on your Switch; you don’t need Nintendo Switch Online to access the eShop of any region, and you can download as many demos and free apps as you like. Right now, your non-Japanese NSO account works for any application that requires NSO to use - regardless of which eShop it came from.

  • @SeanOrange

    @SeanOrange

    4 жыл бұрын

    You could even delete your Japanese account from your Switch if you want (you can always add it back later), and anything you downloaded from the Japanese eShop would still work.

    Can a Japanese account on the same console get online with the US online?...

  • @SeanOrange

    @SeanOrange

    4 жыл бұрын

    HikarinoJanis It depends? I’m not sure offhand if only one account on the console needs access to Nintendo Switch Online; all of mine are part of my family group, so I don’t have a good negative test. Only way to find out is to try it! That being said, you only need the Japanese account to access the eShop and download Japanese software; after that, you could even remove the Japanese account and just use your regular one(s).

  • @FamicomDojo

    @FamicomDojo

    Жыл бұрын

    Because 4:3 will actually stretch and distort the image; the actual “safe” gameplay area on NES or Famicom games is closer to 1:1, with the edges usuallt covered up by the borders of CRT televisions. The borders actually cover up some of the top and bottom of the image too, so the viewable area is closer to 4:3, but what the hardware draws to the screen is often a different aspect ratio. Alternatively, an emulator could crop the image to the safe area. We struggled with this too early on when making Famicom Dojo videos for the same reason. For a while we put a border around game footage to only display the safe area, but have decided to stop doing that, and just show everything, even if it’s not what you would see exactly on old TVs.
