No. MySql is good for Backend and Ms access is for front end.

In short, MySql is your Server. Ms access has limited storage capacity which is about 2Gb.

Look at the following two other videos of Edcell John: 1) "How to Export Microsoft Access Database to MySQL Workbench using ODBC Connector": kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIhlttiMn6fFhag.html 2) "Microsoft Access as front-end of MySQL": kzread.info/dash/bejne/iIhrmNKbpZOWnKw.html I used MariaDB instead of MySQL. When installing an ODBC connector, just ensure that you pick the 32 bit version of the connector if your MS Access is in 32 bit. I have MS Access 2016 (obviously 32 bit), and despite using a 64 bit Windows, I had to install the 32 bit version of the ODBC connector for it to work.

Hey Edcelle John, I saw that MySQL also has a dedicated page for the workbench as a "product". Unfortunately, it seems that I cannot post the link here, because YT automatically deletes the comment if I try. It is on the main mysql page under slash "products" and then slash "workbench". What can you say about this page and download? Is this just as good or does your way have certain benefits? GREAT content on your channel, btw! Please, keep up the good work.

Thanks for watching. I saw it already. The difference between 2 is you need to BUY. In my video it's purely free download but really usable as developer. It's the same with Ms Sql that have STANDARD EDITION and ENTERPRISE EDITION.

I admit that it does look like you say at first glance, because the page is located in the section "MySQL Enterprise Edition", however, the download itself is "mysql-workbench-community-8.0.29-winx64.msi", and I can download and install it just as the other free version without any buying involved. It does not seem to be a trial version either. I thought, it is the same version as in your video, just as a stand alone download? I thought, the way you show in the video might have the advantage of having the SQL Server and everything else in one package, if one wants that?

We can download free but if we want to upgrade, we will buy. Check it again and there's a word BUY.
