INPUTS HAVE CHANGED FOR SIDE POPS: you no longer push the stick Straight to the side to setup in the pocket of the nose or tail to do Side Pops. it is now DIAGONAL input to setup. this only applies to side pops on flat and not side pops out of grinds or slides. this video fully explains the new change kzread.info/dash/bejne/eZah08Ofl6W3l6g.html

I have a really strange issue with nose slide to crook, for some reason when I low pop from the nose slide to the crook, my character just turns to jelly and bails. Been trying that combo for the last 3 hours and even when it's perfectly locked in and I'm putting in the input, my character just falls. Tried with both upwards and diagonal inputs and no hope. Is it something to do with my settings? I play on default but I'm wondering if there's another setting.

Do you have skater Physical Animation enabled in the Experimental Tab? If so, disable it and give the trick a try. I have it enabled and don’t have issues but that’s the only thing I can think of without seeing a video clip of your attempt and without seeing what inputs you’re doing

No controller overlay within the game but if you’re on PC and know how to setup OBS Studio to record, you can use this gamepadviewer.com/ Or have session in Window mode and shrink the window enough so you can see both gamepad viewer tab and game screen on one screen. As long as you copy exactly what I do in the video it should be working, I get it pretty consistent now without issues like you’re describing (perhaps one setting I have different from yours is No Release grind setting.. if you’re not set to No Release, then set it and try again.

you really just need to practice. i've been playing this game for 5 years, so im very used to how things work, what angles i need to go at and how to adjust while im in the air if my angle is a bit off. to help with things, you can boost your Grind Alignment all the way up, that will keep you in grinds without slipping off. you can also turn on Casual grind mode.

While practicing I have difficulty grinding on the rail or ledge for more than 1 to 2 seconds. What's your secret to grinding so steadily as you've done here?

Takes practice to learn how to lock in. To make things easier while you learn, boost the Grind Alignment in Grind Settings.

On flat? You have to turn on Board Control mode (set to manual) in the flip trick settings

if you mean on Flat, you need to enable Board Control in the flip trick settings. in grinds you just have to make sure you fully let go of the inputs before reinputting the direction you want to pop

I just hate that if you use relative input and use the trigger to rotate into a slide it cancels it, and you have to input like you don't have it on. It gets me all mixed up when trying double grinds.

Thanks bro that video was incredible, I didn’t know you could be this technical with grinds / slides. I got the game 2 days ago and played 15h , I struggled at first but now I’m getting good on flat / manuals , but I very much still struggle with slides and grinds ( I really struggle to arrive to the obstacle at the right angle and pop at the right time) do you have any tips for that ?

Are you fully releasing the stick then reinputting the setup stick to the side? Also do you have Manual Board control enabled (this only affects side ollies on flat)

You let go of inputs, and reinputting to the side you want tells the game that’s where you want to pop to. Grind input, Let go and reinput left will pop you over left. Let go and reinput up will pop you straight.. etc.
