Whenever I get in a close range fight with someone using the frenzy, they always absolutely destroy me, even with a lower rarity frenzy. This gave me some great tips. Thanks!

play distance if your out in the open, but if you’re close quarters try abusing right-hand peaks on any cover you can use.

I have to explain it to my friends allot but dps is always gonna be more important than the actual damage value. Yeah the pump shotgun can hit 50% harder than the auto on a perfect headshot but the auto player can just vomit out bullets at like 3x the rate that you are so theyre essentially shooting 3 or 4 shots to your 1 meaning theyre actually the ones outputting more damage. You have to be really good at the pump & swap to outplay a frenzy user close range.

This auto shotgun is the real issue this season. Yeah, snipers are an issue too, but since most fights will end up being close range usually that's where the auto shotgun dominates to the point it is an issue and you have to use it to even stand a chance.

The frenzy is arguably a get out of jail free card in close encounters. It feels necessary to have opposed to just picking it up for the sake of doing so. If the pump were a slug shotgun I could see the benefit of choosing between them or picking up both and sacrificing a slot for meds or bunkers, but right now the frenzy just dominates because it doesn't matter where you hit them. As another user said, just vomit bullets and you'll probably win.

The pump needs a serious range buff to even be useful. I used the havoc pump and sharptooth all the time...but the pump in Chapter 5 is just useless.

The pump should be high risk high reward compared to the frenzy which should be lower hitting but easier to use. Pump either needs to hit higher so the one hit style does enough to then switch to a SMG or AR to finish rather than frenzy when you can just fight solely with @@drunkhusband6257

The auto-shotguns, in my mind, have always been the meta. Some of the pump shotguns, such as the one in chapter 4 were really good but they're SOOOO slow and you really have to have true aim for them to be effective in CQC. Also, hip-firing with a shotgun IS very important especially if you pick one up with a red-dot sight on it. Who the &#$% puts a red-dot on a shotgun anyway?

Yea, I think the frenzy auto shotgun is the best shotgun right now. Even though it hurts me to say that. I get more dopamine from doing the pump swap spray with like the hammer pump and burst SMG. But this season, so far, it is just not it.

Yeah I was pretty much full health and had the Peter pump. I got him for like 130 first shot and went to switch to smg and before it got pulled out I died. Pretty sure 2 we’ll placed frenzy shots will kill someone’s. Especially mythic

So true about the shot guns ... 100% hit the nail on the head.. I hear soooo many people complaining about scopes on shotguns... It makes zero sense since majority of the time you should not be aiming down site with a shot gun anyways... I've also seen quite a few build players rocking the auto shotty this season instead of the pump as well

I generally would hit them with the pump then automatically switch to an AR to finish them off.

I try and use the pump and a spray weapon, and it works, but it's not consistent enough against the auto shotgun. So for this season I'm going to switch to the auto shotgun

Right on, if you come across a purple auto you can one hundred percent take the match. I'm old , I carry one regardless of the color cause it is effective.

i use the pump because it is harder to aim and it will help your aim instead of just using the spray auto shotgun, if i lose to the auto shotgun, its because i missed my pump shot

The frenzy shotgun it’s unbalanced, too many damage and fire rate even at mediaum distance too. The hammer pump if you shot and don’t make the total damage in the oponent and it’s over for you. The hits doesn’t count and we shot a lot of 40 damage right on the enemy. Final game it’s only that gold or mític one

Would love to see you for a video on strafing. I been playing nearly a year on a switch and still not sure how to do it. I always ayran use aim .

Had a day of the yipps a few days ago and decided to take a few days off. Couldn’t control any of my bullets and had sloppy aim up close

I think the reason (correct me if I’m wrong) for drum mag on frenzy is that you still have a shot left while the other guy is reloading if they pick speed mag. Assuming CQB shotgun duel at the same time. Drum mag for sure, especially if your accuracy is on point. I don’t think the speed mag is that effective unless you’re missing a lot or you get flustered in combat and need the extra reload speed. Idk about the drum mag reloading slower tho. Figured it’d be the default speed but I guess it makes sense because the mag is bigger/heavier. I’m a noob tho so idk lol I usually go: White-Green -> Pump Blue-Purple -> Frenzy Gold -> Either

@@kool-aiddealer6268 yeah idk I was just thinking the drum mag gives you an extra shot and while the faster reload speed of the slow reloading frenzy is perfect, the time difference isn’t that much imo. So in the heat of a shotgun battle, I’d just value the extra dps. My friend swears by the speed mag tho so idk I think it’s personal preference. I wish it was a bit faster for the frenzy though.

I prefer the pump just because its more satisfying to hit an enemy with instead of spamming the auto shotty, but i have been using the auto shotty lately because of the consistency. I sure hope they do buffed the pump.

I love the frenzy, but I find if I'm in a fight with someone using a pump, I just know they will be sweats, lol I think we can all agree lol unless it's of drop only sweats carry the pump

Used the frenzy for the first time in ages and got a win with 8 kills on my first game in 😭

I cant do the speed mag anymore. I can kill 2+ with the big mag, its so key if your playing squads like me.

The thing is the sniper are good which makes lots of fights just sniping wars so maybe they made a good auto shotty to counterattack that

I did feel the frenzy was unbeatable but I have both won and lost fights to/with it with a good SMG spray right on target.

I swore off pump shotguns this season when I got absolutely recked by a COMMON auto while I had the Peter griffin pump. Pump is just WAY too slow and I don’t see how people would use it over the auto in any circumstance

Well, constantly going to high ground and getting all the maxxed-out weapons you can is super cheesy as well. My most favorite wins were when a grey or green AR and shotgun helped me get there. It's really about doing whatever helps. For me, the shotgun choice is more 55% havoc, 45% hammer. Won with both, but they demand different play styles, so it depends on how the game feels.

Red dot on either shottie is my preference. Obv the auto shotgun is better unless you have a high level pump with mods

I think the biggest problem with pump right now is that headshots require you to be more perfect than before due to there being no max damage cap for any of the rarities aside from mythic. They need to increase the headshot multiplier and slightly increase body damage so that they do have a max damage cap

I definitely feel the pump shotgun has potential but it definitely needs a buff for the cock back time if your going to have fights up close but over all i think the auto shotgun is better for now till they fix and buff the pump shotgun

I know the auto shotgun is better, but i just love the pump playstyle and know that at some point it will be better again / a change in the shotgun meta or pool. So then i am still used to using the pump :)

I play on controller and use a sensitivity of 6 for both normal camera movement and ADS. I don’t know if using advanced settings would fix my issue (because I don’t know what half of it means) but at least to me it feels like 6 is perfect for aiming in, but when it comes to normal movement 5 is way too slow overall, but 6 is way too fast in a shotgun fight. Love to hear how other people feel about this

I strongly suggest you use advanced settings it will allow you to fine tune your sens and is alot better in the long run

You should definitely go into creative and mess around with custom settings in the advanced options. You can change the ADS sensitivity separately from the hip fire sensitivity. Just keep messing with it until you feel comfortable then play a couples match’s and see if you feel you need to fine tune anything.

Try to improve with advanced setting bro, specially using linear (since non-advanced settings use exponential curve), it will help you to aim better in a long run You can just copy Jake's settings, they're just standard linear settings and work very well Watching his settings video can help you a lot too

unfortunately, the frenzy is my preferred shotgun. I do prefer the play style of a pump but the hammer pump shotgun is just too inconsistent for me.

I wish each gun had a Unique mod at the Mod bench. Like Resident Evil 4 when you max out a gun. Give the hammer pump increased damage at a cost. Maybe a slug pellet or slightly less range. Unrelated but I just thought of this

I'm actually better at close range battles! When I'm in a bind i like to use the grappler to move around my enemies and I will use them as grapple targets when u press action they twirl causing damage and flinging some players too, or if I have an epic or legendary frenzy is when I'll use that in close range. I've been getting more trophies since I've been following your strategies, thank u!

I love the car mix up’s personally o Thor in a few more of my own to make sure they never know what I’m gonna do. Sometimes I’ll get in the passenger seat and ADS to shoot them from the car because they expect me to get out again. The other one is to switch seats and get out on the other side to get mor cover that way I’m not going for the 50/50 or you said.

I kinda wish these super high rate of fire shotguns weren't added to zero build, they make weapons like the pump and smg feel almost obsolete and turn close range combat into a contest of who can spam fire the fastest

I’ve won a few games with the pump solely cause I feel like the auto is jus way too cheese. It feels great to genuinely outplay someone with a pump, but honestly the pump is underpowered it feels like the striker pump. It’s lowkey demotivating sometime cause u have to focus and put effort in to hit decent damage in while someone with an auto jus sprays and gets rewarded for it

Any tips for playing aggressive? I feel comfortable at mid range but in close combat, I have a habit of shooting while backing away. Just more experience?

practice more in red vs blue maps or any other combat maps. More experienced u are, more comfortable u are

It's like they re-skinned the drum shotty, buffed it, and gave it attachments. Absolutely rules zero-build, sadly. The hammer pump is more of my preferred playstyle, but its tough when it feels like the launch version of the striker pump back from Chapter 3.

The frenzy fires slower than the drum shotty and has a much smaller mag. They need to seriously buff the pump though it's borderline useless as it is now.

speed mag isn't it for me, drum has more potential. Usually I do like the quicker reload, but I get 3rd partied so much I'd rather have the ammo. Only thing for me is I think I reloaded it, then I have to reload again

When is the New items coming to creative? They can add the Mod Bench as a device later, but they should add the Base items now!

I've always enjoyed using a pump more. Just the swapping and everything about it. Hard hitting shots paying off. With that being said the auto is too good this season. The pump needs to be hitting harder to be worth it. I can't justify going up against. Riot shielded w a pump and have tried using pumps and hit shots and still die to the auto so much. So I definetly stick to auto more, but will always go back to the pump every once in a while for some nostalgia

the thing i hate about the auto frenzy shotgun is how much the reticle is spread and the realoding timeis just so slow it have died 2 or 3 times reloding midfight

The biggest thing I see players like Jake do in these videos that mortals can't do is jumping up and aiming down at the same time. With a normal PS5 controller it's I possible. I have the better PS5 controller with jump mapped to the bottom triggers and I still can't do it. I have to jump and wait for my hipfire crosshair to pass over the opponent

The thing is that you really play safe, me myself, i like to rush people all game.

You’ve got admit, chapter 4, season 2 had the best shotgun Meta the pump shotguns were very good The third shot gun was good. And I’m not even gonna lie. The maven was good and perfect for the season. Not too strong, like the tack or the shotgun. But not too weak. And I like how there was only three shock and second one poem not everyone running around being able to one pump.

has anyone else experienced the auto shotgun not firing after one or two shots? It's happened to me 6 or 7 times.

Kinda late, but I definitely prefer and like pumps more, since they require accuracy and skill most of the time(99%) the rest being luck(also 99%)(kidding) but anytime there's a auto in a season, it's always going to be meta and I'm going to use it, until I get one pumped by a good player and I try pump for a game and die immediately to a auto.(professional yapper over here)

they should have an animation for getting in and out of cars it really is busted

Try to relax. Seriously, I used to try and flick my shots like the pump shotgun but with the auto you have to keep the square on your opponent at all times, even between shots. Also, try and crouch and duck under your opponents shot. Then, when they lower their gun, you jump
