What about deducting a percentage of your auto insurance (business use), fuel, office supplies (snacks & beverages while on the go), repairs & maintenance of your 'business vehicle', etc. and everything else that's listed on Schedule C?... It's not how much you make, but how much you keep that counts.

I just keep a log book. Write down my mileage when I leave the house and again when I return. Standard deduction might not save you the most money but it's SO much easier to manage. • @Bhamloud47

You basically have to lie to your insurance carrier. Commercial insurance is what you really need and it way too much and traditional insurance will not cover you were they to find out. This guy sugar coats it all. Leaving out you’re on the hook for 15.2 percent fica (traditional employers match what you pay so independent contractors pay double). If you’re making 30k+ a year doing this 30% is probably underestimating what tax you’ll owe ever after deductions. He also glosses over the fact that you’re putting 3-4x the average mileage on a car if you do it that much so you really need to factor in a significant percentage of the cost of the car or payments to be anywhere near accurate. Hey, I’m not against doordash. It can be a great way to make some side cash, but guys like this significantly underestimate their overall costs to do it full time and thus significantly overestimate what they actually make doing it. It’s not a great full time gig by any means and you’d be better off working a traditional job.
