In my opinion eco styler gel is the best. I always see people using gel that is not made for edges. If you are ever looking for a gel that is good for edges, you can try eco styler gel. There are many different types of it tho. Also wetline Xtreme works too.

@@princesspumpkinxoxo2115 ooooh, so you're uneducated when it comes to other races that aren't your own... Got it. That's all you had to say girl. My curl pattern falls between 2B & 2C & I have a LOT of very curly/frizzy baby hairs that naturally sweep across my forehead giving me natural unruly edges that I have to style and lay down with gel/mouse, in order to not have a frizzy baby hair halo. But according to you, my life long struggle with my crazy edges is "forced" lmao. Girl go do some research before you open your mouth and let the ignorance pour out it. My grandparents are all immigrants from Scotland, meaning I'm hella white. Majority of scottish women's hair is like mine. Women of color are NOT the only ones with a hair type that requires edge management. So why get so pressed about a total strangers edges? Lmao fucking weird if you ask me, but ok 👌

@@lexnixxus8099 I'm with you, I'm hella white too and have had the same lifelong struggle with my unruly edges. That sweep a third of the way down my forehead, mind you. If they ain't edges, then I don't know what are! I've always thought there was just nothing I could do but look like a frizzy haired wacko, until I started learning. It's hair for crying out loud. Can't we all be Queens and love each other instead of worrying about appropriating some culture? Who made that garbage up anyway???

It’s always been a beautiful trend within the black community. I would say paying more attention to, worrying about, and shaping baby hairs are becoming more and more popular nowadays across many different women especially as we see more admirable examples on social media. As a white Hispanic woman with super fine and frizzy hair immm done with the wild and i want to tame my fly always and make my hair style very neat so I’ll probably have to pay more attention to my edges and start working with them, i really want to improve my hair’s look. I’m not going to go crazy with it but i aLso don’t wanna keep looking like a hot mess lmao. I am thankful. I wish we didn’t have to bring it down to race and who’s hair style belongs to who but i do want to thank Black Women. For baby hairs and edges are most known from their hairstyles and who else but a black women can say how much they’ve been criticized by society for just being themselves and looking how they want to look. i do also want to thank this women for making a video as she has finer and less course hair (more like mine). I just came to say its nice to know history in a more well rounded way, not skipping anybody and to appreciate the way other people start and do things before us. Acknowledgment, Praise, Appreciate, Love and Support.

Due to hormones my hair was thinning a lot on the top and the edges aspecially. Since i stopped with hormones it’s growing back:) but the edges look crazy, like i got a electric shock😂 So i’m looking for some controle curly girl friendly and no flaking. But i hate the feeling of hair product on my skin, i get bumps as well. I saw the blueberry bliss edge paste, did you try it? I have a lot of gels at home but i don’t like the stiffness. I have 2b-3a natural curly hair and strong 4a curls above my ears, which i really like to be curly.

In my opinion as a black girl, you should not do it. It is not made for your hair, and even though it is curly it’s definitely not the same texture as actual black people’s hair. So, not only is it cultural appropriation, but your hair probably won’t be strong enough to handle it and it will fall out. Hope this helped.

I don’t see why it would be offensive. It’s just a way to style your baby hairs. Since I can remember I laid down my baby hairs with gel as they were always super messy and I didn’t even know what edges were at that point. It might not be the same texture as a black persons hair but you should be allowed to do whatever the hell you want with it.

There is a different is having natural baby hairs which non black races have-FYI the concept of “laying edges” steams for kinky curly and orange the lack there of baby hair- hence they gel and the sculpting of the hair yo create an illusion of actual baby hair. the toothbrush method definitely coined and marketed by a black woman. Black culture and everything we do now days has become highly popular and that is ok however show some respect when mocking and mimicking our trends.
