Dope shape up and tutorial thanks for this my brother
A Barber that I knew used to do really tight edge ups he told me when you edge up you always start on the side that has the least hair. An edge up that side first. Then edge up the other side that has the most hair because you can always subtract but you can't add ! 🙂

You’re the first I’ve seen to do a realistic edge up on a client who doesn’t have the perfect hairline. I appreciate the knowledge!

Wait, so you don’t push them back 3/4” and use an entire bottle of fibers? I thought that was the industry standard now 😂😂😂 For real though, great tutorial... nice to see someone teaching some common sense.

This man doing god’s work. Bless you my brother.
Bro this was a big help. I'm not a barber but I cut mine and my son's hair and this advice makes a big difference. Thank you.
This is the best shapeup video, I've come across. U left the light parts intact and tapped away the strong parts to even it out...perfectly done. 👍
Hey thanks for this video. It truly helped me out. My edge up has been pushed back and I'm cautious to push others back but your steps helped me see a better way and still keep it sharp. Thanks again.
Thanks a lot. I do cut my hair by myself especially when i'm in Japan. Cutting the edge of my hair and doing Line up has been my greatest challenge every time. I should definitely get it right with the help of this video. Thanks Buddy
Thank you so much! As a Cosmetologist, I didn't get much training on barbering. Edge up and lining was always hard for me. I am finally understanding more by watching this tutorial. Again, thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video. This is the most scientific approach to a line-up I’ve ever seen and I know some excellent barbers. Game changer in my eyes.
This is one of my struggles till this day thanks for the video🔥
Thank you for providing a guide to repair an edge up! Right on time with it!
Nice video.. talked well through the hair types. Finding the high and low natural line is the key.. no pro here but I been trying to adhere to that for years trying to keep myself clean.. enough that when I stated going back to shops to be able to make an educated decision about where and how you line should look and feel.. growing up on the east coast and having the same barber for years and years teaches ton a lot as well.. cats couldn’t fade when I got out here almost 20 years ago.. they’ve come a long way.. respect!!
This was incredibly helpful!!! With quarantine, I have been using clippers on my husbands hair but I really wanna do a nice edge up on him. I was clueless until this video. I cannot wait to try these tricks! Thank you so much!
I’m halfway through barber college and this video has so many gold nuggets in it I will continue to watch your videos before they actually are give me weapons I need in real life thank you for making these I subscribed nothing but love
Excellent video. No enhancements were needed, no holding spray was needed. Very descriptive and to the point.

Question: what makes or dictates u edging that vertical bar STRAIGHT up n down opposed to knowing when to do it with a slight slant.
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for this video. I started locs on my boys ages 4 and 8. This vid really helped me out! Thanks again bro 😎
This was the best edge up video I’ve ever watched👍👍👍. So glad you showed how to edge up on different hair types and shapes.
Every edge up or line up is a push back! You just push it just enough like in this video so that it looks natural.
@mysterybat35
4 жыл бұрын
well, yes and no. when your hair grows you have a little bit of a bang which grows over where your natural lineup starts growing. the trick is to just cut enough of the "bang" to make it nice and tight without going past where the follicles naturally start growing.. but if your natural hairline is not straight then YES you do have to go past that point to make a straight line

@@mysterybat35 but most hairlines aren’t straight right? Every edge up is gonna he a pushback somewhere on the hairline right? Am I wrong?
@mysterybat35
3 жыл бұрын
@@SuperSecretAgentNein depends what you call "straight" . Im not talking about exact square straight; some hairlines follow a natural curvature. As long as it is cut uniform it doesn't have to be lined up straight as a box/square ..some clients don't even want it lined up like that. Others do. Depends on situation/the clients desire. So if they desire the exact square look and their natural hairline doesn't follow it then yeah I guess you could say that's a "pushback" or "professional pushback" as some would call it.

Great job. Thank you. I appreciate your precision and patience explaining everything
Great video! Simple and to the point. Clean work. Much respect. Keep the barber gang alive.
Thank you, I don't like starting in the middle. I was told you must start in the middle, I disagree, and after seeing this, it's good to know other people feel the same. Thanks for the camera trick too.
I definitely found this helpful. I've doing the "start in the middle thing" and for the most part is been okay but this right here make so much seance.Thank you for this video (really all), we really appreciate it man.

EXACTLY!!!!! I get SO TIRED of these fucking barbers only wanting to show shape ups on guys with wavy hair or dark Caesars...... any blade you put on those textures of hair and I mean ANY blade is gonna look like a million bucks..... they never wanna show an ally headed guy getting a icey lineup so I agree this guy definitely earned my sub 💯💯💯👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hey bro thank you so much for the step by step. This is the only video that really breaks it down in three realistic ways. Your a God send.
It's good you passing on common sense some of us don't have it. You a straight up barber!
This was a amazing video man! I've been having trouble being a beginner barber. So glad this was recommended to me man 👊🏿👊🏿
I've gotten really good now at lining myself up. I need to work on my vehicle bars. This helps a bit. Thanks!
Thank you much MMA Barber! I appreciate your simplistic Edge Up! Tutorial..Very neat and Clean. Ms.Penelope
I'm on a very tight budget, so for some time now, I have been cutting my son's hair. I've become quite good at shaping up his fro, but im trying to become better at fading and edging. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Thank you even more for getting to the point, and keeping it clear and simple. Blessings to you and much success! 👍🏾
yo bro you been very helpful,I appreciate you helping me with the edge up practice. your a lifesaver.
I've always been strugglin with my edge up, once I've completed fading my hair. And by using this technique, it will help me out a lot. Cause before...... My damn edge up look like I lined it up by using a hallway design!?! Thanks for simplifying it homie!!!
This is a helpful video. I almost never get a good shape up. I think a shape up is the most important aspect of a good cut! Thx!
You explained that very well, and I will definitely be sharing this video!
Thanks 🙏🏾 so much bro the corners were my struggle God bless thanks for your knowledge
Jeez mad respect for barbers. Every haircut is basically a custom order which customers expect to be the way the like, would be way to stressful for me.
Super helpful. Some do not prep the edge before cutting
Thank you for the recommendations. Well done.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I learned so much you are a good teacher and easy to follow due to your down to earth lingo and manner. You are Super Great at all you do and it makes a lot of sense what you say and do to attain that great look. People like you are a Blessing! Thanks
This was fire I just cut my son hair first time became nervous on the edging I think I got it now !! Thank you
Very helpful bro. I think I’m going to try this method since I don’t have luck with starting in the middle. Appreciate you!
Very helpful I always found it harder to start in the middle also. This way makes a whole lot more sense and makes it easier for the slanted side appear. This helped me so much.

Thank you, very helpful tutorial and well explained.
Really helpful method.Great insightful tutorial.
I was taught to start the edge up from the middle Thanks for this video, simplified it 👌🏽
I have used hairspray to hold my hair in place and then I used the t-outliner to shape it up. It comes out clean. The only time I have had a hard time is when I put my part line for when I do a comb over on myself. It's harder to do that part line. Good video man. Thanks

This was very informative thank you!
I have thin baby hair at the front and sides and stopped going to the barbers coz they was pushing my hair line back. Currently learning how to shape up my own hair line but it ain't easy but this video was helpful 👍🏾
This was super helpful! Prob the best line-up tutorial that I've seen! I've had some insecurities when it comes to cutting some people up and the line has that slight little slope to it. My only question is when you have someone and their temples are noticeably uneven. In that case are you going to force a lineup ( I stay away from that) or just make sharp their naturally uneven temple?
Thanks for the heads up on the list
Thanks so much this video is very helpful I subscribe soon as I saw it I cut my son's hair all the time and also my nephews one of my nephews I have to create his line. because like you said all the foreheads are different. But I got better every time this is just icing on the cake. Thanks again!
