i kind of hate everyone who comes here from yuri on ice expecting to learn figure skating jumps first with no experience. like, you can't just skip to jumps without knowing crossovers, edges, three turns and mohawks lmao

Preach! No one expects his hard this sport is, and how much work you have to do to get to even a simple waltz jump. Figure skating isn't as easy as Yuri on Ice makes it seem to be.

i know XD i mean i LOVE Yuri!!! on ice but i know how hard learning figure skating is! Trust me before i was watching Yuri!!! on ice me and my mom tried to ice skate....its HARD BTW i've always wanted to be a figure skater ( even before being obsessed with Yuri on ice ) and i'm 16 with no prior experience do you think i could still be a figure skater i mean i don't wanna be in the Olympics or anything just little competitions do you believe i could :3 ( my parents said no ) :(

Mannatee Madness Actually, there’s many small competitions at lower levels that you could definitely join!! Take it from me, I started at 15 and a couple months back I skated in my first competition (like I said a small one but still a competition) so it’s absolutely possible!!

I loved skating before Yuri On Ice, but I never took lessons. I just went to the rink every so often and practiced crossovers and stuff that I learned from your videos. I remember getting up at 5am to watch the winter Olympics, and watching Yulia's Schindler's List program every other day. I stopped for a while as I started doing other things, but after watching Yuri On Ice, I started taking lessons with my friends. Now I'm back looking at your videos, and learning my toe loop. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I wanted to thank you for your videos! I skated at the Broadmoor skating club when I was young, had a 25 year hiatus followed by a 10 year serious illness recently and now I started skating again (albeit slowly) over the past two months. Your videos are helping me so much. :)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this tutorial! At 1:29 helps me a lot finding the balance with my both feet to bend and jump. Before I couldn't find the balance and just used toepick to hit the ice strongly in order to jump up then once I sprained my left ankle. That took me a month to rest. Now I could do a single toe loop but without the kick on the right foot as you teach in the video. Maybe the kick is essential on attempting double and triple toeloop.

Hi, I have a problem where I always two foot my toe loops. My teacher says to lift up my left leg in the air so I land on my right foot, but I can’t seem to lift it up fast enough and always two foot it (that or trying to lift it messes up the jump). How do I fix this problem?

It is somehow hard for me to draw two feet together, when I do it I kinda lose the momentum to jump, I do jot understand whether I should do this drawing the feet putting all my weight on the toe or still placing it on both feet. Could you explain it to me more? I do not get whether this drawing happens naturally or I should do it and why do we need to it at all? I am so confused :/ the way I do atm is smth like a toe axel I guess, when I place my toe on the ice I tend to jump right away, I find it super hard to draw the feet, as sometimes they call it, "close the door".
