How To Do A Mambo Tumbao on Congas
IT'S TUTORIAL THURSDAY!!!!
So today we're covering a tumbao you can try out during a mambo section of a song OR whenever you want to spice your tumbao up for a measure or so.
It's a great exercise to try especially when trying to improve your left hand.

It's always great to hear an intro of who you are, it's several notches on great production.
I don’t get to play as much anymore, and I really appreciate your videos and instructional guide. Sometimes I just put them in the background when I’m working so I can hear the sound and lesson, hopefully picking up on lesson and then trying to apply the knowledge later. I'm probably one of your oldest viewers, I'm in my 70's, was ready to give up on playing until I watched your Easy Funk Video. Hi there!! its been a while..thanks as always. i was sitting in last week in front of packed house and my solo finally felt right to my soul!! my redobles came like a well oiled machine. yeah, wanted to scream!! thanks for teaching us how to build to that moment. amigo,,lo que me pasa a veces con la percu y por lo general en congas,,que la tecnica supera la musicalidad,,, es un patron de golpes combinados y bien practicados que se llega a buena velocidad,,pero queda ahi,,no se transforma en musica,,a ver que podemos haces al respecto,,gracias abrazo

Thank you. Can you tell me why you would not use the two conga lick as a stand alone rhythm as opposed to just a lick? Is it correct hat it was too repetitive. I think that is what you said when I listened the second time.

Beautiful, a few years ago there was a video that I learned this beat from except instead of the bass slap slap open open, it went heel toe slap open open. Everything else was the same. Was the other way incorrect?
