HI there, great video! A bit about the language situation: locals speak at least 3 languages, Luxembourgish, French and German and the younger people also speak English. Now here’s the thing: only half of our population are actual Luxembourgers. We have a very large Portuguese community and a very big part of our workforce comes from either France or Belgium. since a lot of those work in the capital, French is the go-to language there and in the south as well. However, the more you move to the north and the east, French gets replaced by German, because of geography and the many German workers. I grew up near the German border, so I’m more at ease with German, however people who grow up close to France or Belgium are more familiar with French. The best thing to do when entering a shop or a restaurant is open with “moien”. If you get a “moien” back, it’s safe to assume you’re dealing with a local.

Long layovers are always a great “hack”. If the plane’s on time, you get a cool “mini-vacation” stop. If the plane’s late, you’ve got built in cushion time to catch your connection. Works either way! Glad you had a great time in a country that is often overlooked. And thanks for sharing!

Luxembourg is a tiny country but not a micronation. A micronation is actually a fantasy nation established by very few people and non recognised by other countries, like Sealand near the english Coast or Christiana in Copenhagen.

Hi, nice video of my home country :) Just a few small corrections if you don't mind. It's not a Royal Palace as we don't have a king, but a Grand-Ducal Palace ( we are the only nation to have a Grand-Duc AFAIK ). The Grand-Duc uses the Palace as an 'office' and for official meeting but doesn't live there. His residence is in the Colmar-Berg castle. Unfortunatelly you probably missed my prefered "unknown curiosity" in the city, less than 50m away from the Viaduc, the "Chapelle Saint-Quirin", a small church carved in the rocks, look it up, it's worth it :)

Absolutely wonderful Video again. I've been to Luxemburg several times and absolutely love it. Although I think it is not an easy place to fall in live with, if you, like me, exoect a Medieval mirical it being a World Heritage site. It took me some time to stomach and digest all the different archtectual styles, the architectual diversity and the short lifespan a building has in this town. Once you succedded, you will be hocked and will never stop being fascinated by this town. Have you tried the Café opposite the Royal Palace? It's not cheap but it has the most tasty cakes and drinking chocolate ever.

It is a nitpick that I left out of the video, but I was a little disappointed that their main town square was thoroughly dominated by a Pizza Hut, Burger King, and McDonalds. Not that I don't mind some fast food here and there, but having it be the only option inn a historic town square just felt a bit off to me.
