How To Do A Burpee Pull-Up | Exercise Guide

1. Begin standing under a bar with your legs shoulder-width apart. This will be your starting position.
2. Descend into a squat by pushing your hips and butt backwards. Continue down until the upper legs are at or just below parallel to the floor. Inhale as you perform this portion of the movement.
3. Place your hands on the floor and kick your legs back so you end up with your stomach and thighs on the floor. Your elbows should be bent. This should be done quickly.
4. From this position, press up like you're doing a push-up and push your hips up. Jump your feet under your hips and begin to stand as you prepare to jump up.
5. Finish the movement by jumping in the air and bringing your hands over your head to grab a strong hold on the bar. Immediately pull yourself up until your chin is just above the bar. This is one repetition.
6. Descend from the pull-up by allowing your arms to extend and then let go of the bar to return to the ground. Repeat for recommended number of repetitions.

    One of the best full body moves you can possibly do. Just make sure your doing it properly, In the video the technique is off. You never want to do burpees and let you low back collapse to the floor during the decent and you want to eliminate as much momentum as possible, its not a flow its multiple movements strung together. Step 1. Squat Step 2. Plant hands and jump feet out, maintaining a strong flat core and straight lower back. Step 3. Push up while maintaining core tightness. ( hips and chest lower and raise at same time) Step 4. Jump back to squat position and explode up to bar explosively. Step 5. One you grab the bar stop for a second to eliminate the momentum then perform a pull up with a slow controlled lowering. (By pulling up as your on the way up your negating the whole pull up part by using momentum to help you lift your body. Do these 5 steps individually then drop and repeat

    When I was still fit, I used to do what I called "military chin ups", hanging from the bar with arms locked straight, then pulling the chin up over the bar. I used to do 15 reps with 15 pounds of weights attached to a belt around my waist. This was after a 3 mile run and a 1 mile swim. I wouldn't try in now after a left arm rotator cuff re-attachment, and a stroke a few years ago. I'm distgusted by how out of shape I am now.

    most men where? in an olympic gym or in your local poor neighborhood gym? also why do u have to bring the gender to a field that is proven scientifically that men are just stronger due to more testosterone hormone 😅

    Yeah would of been proper advice if you were doing your pull up with proper form. Your scapula isn't retracted therefore your not getting the most out of your exercise and putting more emphasis on your biceps rather than your back.

    AIIUserNamesInvalid She might not be strong enough to do strict pull-ups quickly or do plyometric push-ups from that height. My wife isn't, but she can do these jumping pull-ups; and that's enough if you focus on the eccentric because that's what builds muscle. This exercise isn't a push-up combined with a pull-up, it's a burpee followed by a pull-up which is assisted by your momentum, which allows you do more reps. Dumbass.

    For the gym, yes. For a guy who has take-a-break reminders from KZread every 10 minutes... This is perfect. I'll do one for every minute of time watched so that at the end of the day, I'll check the stats and know I'm getting smarter as much as I'm getting stronger
