I agree with others who say your use of a video loop is helpful. It really engages the retentive memory.

@@SurfProgressionTechniques what's your setup? I've never gotten a good quad setup dialed in. I find that they are fast and make sections, but they don't want to jam in the pocket like you do in your bottom turn here. Would you recommend more of an upright fin for the rears? Is it better to have the rear fins setup pigeon toed closer to the rail or parallel in the middle?

@@MyMotherWasaNinja I use a tri-fin and a quad. It depends on the conditions. Please send me an email and we can chat more about your current board and situation. Looking forward to hearing from you. chapin@surfprotechniques.com Best wishes!
Hey! Thank you for your insights! A question, please… I’m 34 years old and I’m a beginner-intermediate surfer (more beginner). According to you, is it possible for me to perform aerials tricks eventually?

Im still struggling to pop up fast on my shortboard. I can pop up in one motion on my longboard and go down the line right away but on my 5’10 I keep chicken wing popping up and the wave closes out before I’m even standing on the board. Can u make a video. I’m also goofy foot

Hey, thank you for your comment. It's great to hear from you again. Dropping down from a longboard to a 5'10 is a huge leap and will be challenging. It sounds like you were getting up 100% of the time on your longboard so I would say your pop-up is not the main problem. It's most likely a combination of your paddle and positioning in the line that is preventing you for catching the wave at the optimal time. You're pop-up may be part of the issue but when you drop down in board size everything gets exponentially more difficult and technical. Feel free to email me and we can dive deeper into these subjects. Chapin@surfprotechniques.com Stoked!

What I do is I go into a cobra yoga pose to generate torque with my knee's on the back of my my board. That way when throw my hips back and start to curl a bit it almost forces my knees to fly right below me. Then I put down my feet and start pumping / bottom turning. I recommend this video, it helped me a lot kzread.info/dash/bejne/goeDppaqo6qfd9I.html&ab_channel=TheSurfProject

@@powercarve125 no problem dude. That was actually a problem for me for a good while too. Since my pop up wasn’t great it would take a second for me to find control and then the section would close out by the time I find balance. Good luck in your competition 🤙🏽
