    Fascinating, I have only dug and moved part of the clump and didn't know I could cut the rhizomes to create new plants.

    Thank you for this! Mine is 3 or 4 ft tall & growing taller every year, towering over everything in my flower bed & taking over. I cut back my neighboring hydrangea every fall, but I didn't have a clue what to do with Solomons seal

    If a bud gets broken off will it resprout the same year? I need to get a protective covering for them as they have been trampelled on and even eventually eaten by something.

    Winter or early spring before they emerge is a great time to move Polygonatum.
