I have a deep emotional connection with HTDC's music. I won't get into it but, a couple of years back, I was struggling mightily to just relax my mind at night and get some sleep. Numerous nights, I would leave my own bed and go in another room in the house and play Mers de Revs or Seraphim. The anxious feelings, the despair, would sorta get sucked up as I listened to those albums. I will forever associate this band with moments of peace and tranquility.

I thought it just seemed to me... But speaking of sleep, do you guys happen to remember your dreams way better when falling asleep with these tracks? I usually don't remember my dreams, but Seraph and Mer de Revs seem to bring them out so vividly! I wonder if there is a science to this music...

I don't think anyone does as good a job of making me feel enveloped, like I'm in a "space" that's really nowhere, like a little pocket dimension not connected to the world. It's a little like when you're falling asleep and you catch yourself doing it and notice you don't feel any connection to any of the feelings or events of the day and it's just like pure meaningless and peaceful existence. Was really excited to see there was a another whole album of this man, thank you!

Today is the Saint Seraphin (12th of October), my name is Seraphin and I happen to find an album with my name. My life is so active lately that I never think of myself. I'm studying for my bachelor in geology and I'm also starting my musical career... Most of the time I am overwhelmed by my ambitions, thoughts, regrets or relatioships. My mind never takes rest because of my overthinking, every break is never really a break. I saw a video of a man talking about the importance of the rest in your journey. Even tough I'm in my 20s I understood this very well and if you're wondering why I'm telling you all of this, just hear me out. Life is like climbing a mountain, if you just climb without looking around you'll get to the top faster but you'll miss something for sure. If you only look around you'll never see the top, if you don't take breaks your body won't be able to get you to the top and if you take too many breaks you'll be too old to finish climbing your mountain. Your journey must be a balance between effort and rest if you wanna get to the top healthy,. This is my biggest struggle because even tough I know all of this, society is made in a way that the mountain looks almost impossible to climb... So what should I do? Quit trying because it's too hard or just take more breaks? The answer seems logical, so why would you think about quitting? You might have chose the steepest mountain without knowing it but if you chose an easier one to climb instead, would you be fulfilled at the end of your journey? Probably not. All of this to say that it's OK to take some rest, (meditate on this album for example) life isn't only about hustle. So watch out for yourself mentally and physically, once you'll be at the top the fullfillment will come... I'm still not fully into this mindset but I'm young, some guys are 30 and will probably never realize this. So now that I've opened this possiblity for you I just want to say

Seraphim 1 was a godsend when I was losing my mind. This is perfect for insomnia, calm focus, sauna, meditation, or just a reprieve. The drone changes just enough to have movement but little enough to feel like it’s coming from the environment. Anyone I’ve recommended this to that is a skilled musician is floored.

Is life a paradox we hesitate to understand while feeling an impeccable urge to realise its meaning until we inevitably become worm meat, food for such an insignificant creature in human lives? Does this life foresight an illusion that we impact everything we interact with, but does any of it matter?

  • @oskop5379

I guess it depends what spiritual structure you fall under. For myself, I prescribe to the idea that this universe is experiencing itself through itself. In other words, a greater, singular consciousness is experiencing non duality through the material universe. When something ends, a human or a animal or a blade of grass, even non physical material, the item's "spirit" for lack of a better word, returns to the singular consciousness with all of its worldly experiences. We are but pieces of thar singular consciousness, and we return to our true self once we're done here. It's a cosmic level of multiple personality disorder. As for what happens after EVERYTHING returns to this singularity? I don't know. Perhaps things begin again as they were before, or maybe we create a better world than the next. Maybe a world of fantasy, like in books or movies, maybe something worse than what we're in today. I don't know. My only advice, if you're seeking purpose, concentrate in things that bring life like education, food and water, fitness, maybe a husband or wife, birthing a child. The universe is as purposeless as we are, it's our choice to give our small lives meaning or not. No one will do it for us.
