Love my torq locker. Installed on on a 2018 x3 xds. Did not disable the visco. Everything works perfectly and better than I could have expected.

172kessler some customers experienced 2wd issues with their Visco lok and TORQ Locker. Basically the Visco was causing drag on one axle shaft and it would make the locker pop and make noise in 2wd - which it shouldn't. Not all customers were affected by this however. But in the chance that your Visco would act up, we recommend disabling the Visco so you don't have to do it later.

Why is it recommended to disable the viscolok when installing the torq locker?

If you leave the Visco in, it can cause drag on one axle shaft. This can cause the locker to act up in 2wd. Without the Visco 2wd will be just like stock. We can't guarantee proper locker operation IF you keep the Visco

Dive Bar Casanova yes it is, it's an automatic Locker and works automatically when in 4wd. In 2wd you won't know it's there.

If you disable your Visco, and do not install a TORQ Locker, you will have an open differential like in many cars.
