Ойын-сауық

Join John in this video, as he pushes his embroideries limits by creating small embroidery fonts using a standard embroidery machine needle and a 40 weight thread, plus to push the boundaries even further he uses a 65-9 needle and 60 weight thread.
John was able to achieve legible fonts as small as 2mm, making it possible to add intricate and detailed designs to even the smallest of projects.
John shows the step-by-step process of selecting the right needle and thread for the job, as well as some digitizing theory to achieve such small fonts.
Whether you're a seasoned embroiderer or just starting out, you'll find plenty of useful tips and tricks to help you achieve stunning results with even the smallest of fonts.
Thanks for watching!

John, you’re a true depository of knowledge inherited from the ancients master punchers. Kind of a Embroidery’s Library of Alexandria. So UNESCO should recognize you as Humanity Patrimony.

Ahhh, I just got my first job doing uniforms and the font they used is a serif font and super tiny for the elementary kids. I’m gonna mess around with the settings and try to get something similar to this, thank you !

Thank You John! You've just leveled me up again! I've had a habit of auto setting pull compensation and your information was on point and made clear sense about what it means and what it does during the embroidery process. Yes I might a spend a few more minutes on each digitised design but it also means I can include more intricate detail. I've got some experience with changing the density and it makes sense to lower density when the design gets near madness micro scaling. I've also tested numerous needles and as I only have a single needle machine it have to change the thread for different colours and found 70/10 jeans denim needle to work for me as a happy medium as I stitch at 1050 due to 65/9 breakage but that was before I gained experience and know now to slow it down as I understand now that the friction at high speed builds up heat and why they were breaking on me. Looking forward to your next learning video 👍🏼 I really appreciate and enjoy watching your training videos.

Thank you 👏 Well done. I definitely need to learn digitizing and understand how it affects the designs. I feel like my outsourcing often disappoints. If I can make slight changes to their file to create a better result that would be helpful.

When you say a 4mm, or 3mm lettering, are you meaning the millimeters in measuring the width of the satins that make up the letter, and not the size (height or length) of the individual letters?
