Ойын-сауық

Learning how to dig a plug is easy. It's doing it the same every time that some of us, myself included have problems with.

Good video and good point on putting the dirt you pull out of a hole on a towel so you can put it back in the hole. However, if I can suggest, you use part of an old pillow case instead of a towel. The dirt will slide right off of a pillow case real easy and not stick to it like it does with a towel.

That is an excellent idea that I did not think of. I'm going to try that. Thanks very much, we can all learn from each other

I use a bandana and flip my hatch"plug" onto then putting it back use a golf divot fixing method to loosen the plug helps to refill the hole

Great tips, didn't think about using fabric to hold the soil. I do wish in these videos someone would mark the spot and go back a few days later to show the spot they dug and how it was not destroyed. I mean all the videos on digging plugs are basically the same except no one shows that the grass was not destroyed except for right in that instance when they plugged it.

Very good advice and video.I talked to someone popping out the plug one day.He does not like me anymore.I would not have said anything, but he didn’t even put the plug in the same way it came out. There was a gap around the plugs.O well

Most guys on youtube these days dig a giant removable plug, destroying the turf

Nice job and great way to get invited to detect the neighbors yard when they see there is no damage. Thanks for sharing and take care.

That's good info. We normally will use a small towel at good sites. Farm fields we don't

I see a lot of brown spots at the local park. I haven't been there when they are being made. A lot of the places I dig are loose sandy areas and hard to dig a good plug But the park is really nice and I keep thinking I'll show up one day and the " No Metal Detecting" sign will be up.

Thanks for the helpful vid about root slayer......it helped me decide between the pro and the nomad.....and between the soil knife and the trowel. Going with the trowel and the nomad for metal detecting.....
