My cr125 had the same problem with the cracked slide. Mine actually ran away a few times as well. I ended up putting a lectron carb on mine and it was a bit expensive but well worth the money.

Hey bro I accidentally hit gas in my motor oil I changed out the oil and cleaned it with motor flush and it turn on fine now but it doesn’t turn off when I hit the kill switch and it’s really loud what can I do ??

So I removed my carburetor to have someone rebuild it and when I put it back on I was struggling to put the airbox back in place, I don’t think I connected it probably to the carb. This is definitely the cause right?

So was it just idling high at start ? I have the same slide problem , It idles really high at start but then comes down to normal. If the idle problem isn’t my slide cool. Otherwise I’m gonna try to braze it. 7:03

Dude when this first happened it scared the shit out of me I was so scared to even ride it lol. But it was the choke for some reason when I put the choke back in it was fine

God bless for the tips man, just bought a 99 wr360, scared the shit out of me thought it was going to blow up before I managed to kill it by tipping it over. Wide open on kick, figure it's the cable sticking so I'm taking the carb apart to inspect the needle and everything else. I'll put grease everywhere I can just incase there's an air leak.

I had this problem and it was just a throttle cable had popped out of its position. So check the cables properly b4 anything.

I just rebuilt a PW80 that had sat for a while. Reeds were stuck open, and both crank seals were shot. All in all the seals were $20 and cleaning the reeds was free. Just some time breaking things down and putting them back the right way

I'm having a problem with my suzuki Ax100 2 stroke , once i turn the fuel off, and the fuel in carb bowl is about to get get over, the bike shoots up in RPM, i know it gets a bit lean, my Yamaha does the same thing, but the bike dies in a few seconds, but my suzuki doesn't, it just shoots up and up...even Turning the ignition off won't kill the engine, it still keeps running ( rpm about 10k+) what could possibly be wrong? Another thing i noticed is that the carb becomes so chill, like an ice cube when the bike is running. Any help appreciated

My guess is air leak or stuck throttle cable. You can't kill the bike because the kill switch is being overpowered by the spark from your engine turning. Also the carb becomes cold to the touch the same way refrigerators do. I'd check the cable first and if that doesn't work put some heavy grease over any engine gaskets or possible carb leaks and see if your revs go down.

My bike high idles and has rich smoke so I really have no idea what it could be. It was running perfectly fine and than out of no where this happened. I changed the cylinder head gasket. And also when I pull the choke up it idles fine b when I put it down it high idles. I literally have no clue what it could be. It could honestly be more than one thing b I doubt it would be the crank seals cause I just chnaged them a few months ago

get a can of carb spray and spray around all possible leak areas when the bike is running (on choke),. My bike over revs but spraying carb spray at the air box join causes a stall. New gasket ordered. Fingers crossed.

If it's not top/bottom end im guessing it's your float. Or it may be your jetting. Maybe something's clogged? I had the same problem and my solution was a stuck float. Hope this helps

Mostly from the immediate kick over and it revs straight through the roof. I know my carb is good to go. So I figure it’s gonna be a bad boot for the carb or something

So my rm85 idles very high when I start it up, and it's got a crack on the intake manifold, could this be the problem?

yeah I'd say that's the place to start. try to put some thick grease over the crack to seal it. If the revs go down that's the problem

Will it's a 1999 social cant find the part for it so I was hoping sealent would work on it tbh

I need help. I fell off of my bike doing a wheelie like a moron. I had to replace the silencer, because the hanger was bent. The header pipe has a slight bend, but the new fmf slid right on and I put the bolts in. It starts fine. If I rev it, it will continue to stay loud. Air screw position is within spec. Idle screw doesn’t really do anything. It just holds the rev even when I’m not revving it. The bike also goes by itself without any throttle. When I have the kickstand down it will move on it’s own. Also when I fell off my throttle was stuck. I took the throttle apart and I fixed that issue. Throttle feels normal. Please help if you can. Thanks.

@@willhelphingstine7494 that was a while ago, but I remember adjusting the throttle cable by the throttle. That got rid of the high idle issue and yours most likely needs to be adjusted correctly. I watched a video on how to mess with the throttle cable and ended up getting it done correctly pretty quickly for my first time messing with the cable.

Same exact thing happened to my cr125.couldn’t find a slide anywhere so we ended up having to buy a whole new carb

@@TREVVV2x Havent had much luck sadly. I did contact the company I got it from and they (for some reason) think its the carb, and are sending a new one. I on the other hand think the throttle and or cable are defective from factory and have ordered new ones. Before you buy anything try to loosen your throttle cable and see if it helps.

I recently replaced my carb on my pit bike and now it is redlining when start it without using the throttle, I believe its a gasket leak between my carb and manifold but I'm not entirely sure any opinions

can be a stuck throttle cable or like you said an air leak. Check the cable first and if that doesn't work put some thick grease over your connecting tube and reed valve joint and and see if that stops the revs.

Hey, so I decided to do the top end on my 05 yz 250. I replaced the top end gasket, the o rings on the head, the power valve case gasket and the piston and rings of course. After putting everything back together, I started having extremely high idling. Almost as though the throttle is wide open. I checked the throttle cable, and there seems to be no issues. It doesn’t stick, and completely closes as normal. And I never had any issues with this bike before. I also never touched the carb. My bike was idling perfect before the rebuild. What could it be?

@@kushtrimavdyli8228 yeah, it was the o rings. I didn’t torque the head to spec and it was over tightened. So it didn’t seal properly.

You almost had catastrophic engine failure.

Quick question I have a cr250r as well this weekend I took it out to ride and once I was revving it a bit to warm it up I took it for a spin then kept revving it a bit and out of no where it starts to over rev itself and I try to push the kill switch and it didn't work then I unplugged the spark plug wire and it didn't work then I turned off the fuel and disconnected a fuel line and then after a bit it shut off. What can be the cause of that? Maybe needs a new carb?

Do you have an aftermarket head? The self-ignition part is pointing towards wayyy too much compression+heat. This would also explain the rpm.

Regardless, self-ignition is not good. Maybe you accidentally filled er up with diesel and it was able to ignite? Sounds goofy but check that first. If not it's probably not a bad idea to do a compression test and change spark plugs or check your top-end clearances entirely. I don't think this has much to do with your carb. @@Body_Dropped
