How to Deworm Your Sheep | 1818 Farms

A consistent deworming schedule is extremely important to maintain a healthy flock. Join us as we discuss the tools that we use for deworming, specific deworming medicines, and deworming schedules. We will also discuss the benefits and reasons for using the FAMACHA method as a way to selectively deworm sheep that may have a heavy load of the parasitic barber's pole worm.

Thanka for the video. Question for you: I am raising a bottke lamb over the summer, for butchering this fall at about 6 months of age. The lamb is about 2 months old and is currently worm free. Should i administer dewormer at some point as a precentative/maintenance measure? Or just only administer it of the lamb decelops symptoms? Id like to avoid unnecessary medication but some channels suggest regular deworming. Also, I'm trying to avoid using dewormer around the butchering date, so would hate to see the lamb pick up parasites right before that date.
