Can you develop color film or is it just black and white? Either way its a cool invention.

I own a slightly different style of tank, but, when I do it, I can develop whatever type of film I like, as long as I have the chemicals, and it looks like this is the case here too

@@Wil1iam_afton Thanks, I don't do film photography right now but it seems pretty interesting. If I can develop myself it'd be cool.

@@Zoroaster4 I’ve been doing film photography for a while now, so I’ll just run over some basics I knew when i started: 1) buying film stocks like ilford fp4 or hp5 are a great way to start, they are black and white, and both easily available and where I live, relatively cheap 2) use correct ISOs for the correct scenarios, if you’re shooting indoors buy some 400 iso film, if you’re shooting outdoors buy 125 iso film, otherwise you’ll get dark interiors and bright exteriors by accident. 3) hold off on buying darkroom equipment until you’re definitely ready, it can be very time consuming, hard, and the equipment is expensive, but, if you can turn a bathroom into a darkroom, it means you can make custom films for long gone cameras, (e.g spooling 120 film into a 620 spool, they are the same, except 620 production ended 50-60 years ago, and the spool is lip different) 4) Start off with a half-frame camera if you’re still new to photography, or, don’t have much money. Although the negatives are much smaller, and the aperture can be smaller again, just buy higher iso film, and ensure you use it correctly, because when done so a 36exp 35mm roll of film, can become ≈72exp, but, if you’re experienced, buy a full frame off of EBay, I’d recommend the canon A1 because it has automatic functionality when chosen (shutter priority, or aperture priority) but it also has a built in lightmeter and full manual. 5) Always Buy off eBay,mpb or Facebook marketplace while buying 2nd hand equipment, it’s cheaper, it usually works unless specified otherwise, and you can find some amazingly cheap prices 6) don’t buy lots of camera bodies because they look nice, trust me, if you feel like getting another film camera that shoots a format you can already cover, try to refrain, put the money towards a new lens for your current camera, but if you do buy another camera, make sure it’s compatible with your current lenses, it’ll save you a fortune 7) just slow down, enjoy the moment, and if you’re unsure about a photograph, bring a spare DSLR or mirrorless and test out your settings (iso, shutter speed, and aperture) to preview your photograph, and so you can take photographs and save the really good ones for film Edit: Also, for development, or even film, buying in bulk and buying a bulk loader or 2 is really handy, because you can buy it cheaper per roll and just spool it out yourself.

@@Wil1iam_afton125 is very low for where I live, 200-400 is a better universal suggestion for iso/asa and up to two or three stops more for darker environments. I have no opinion on half frame as an introductory step except it is way easier to find good, manual, full 35s but I definitely would not recommend higher iso films, that seems like a recipe for disaster for a newbie. Higher iso generally means higher grain and when scanned digitally that will be more noticeable on half frame images. If you post to social media exclusively thats ok I guess but if you want to print work, even at fairly middling sizes you will want the full 35 (at least)

Hey I'm developing film soon! I do it all the time, and honestly I already have developed the roll I'm talking about but I am now referring to the roll that will be seen being developed in my upcoming youtube short that I am promoting today. Just posted a teaser today because I am so burned out from posting a film photography short every day that I needed to post a silly teaser where I sing to my dog. Hope you understand. I'm sorry for drawing this out so much and I hope you forgive me. What developer are you using? Df96 monobath?
