I’ve learned a few things over the years. So, I no longer use this detangling method. Actually, I don’t even comb my hair anymore. I use a method called Scooping and Spreading to detangle my hair. And I haven’t used a comb or brush in years. Here’s a link to a video to see how I Scoop& Spread my hair - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYWCla6Ij9WYg8Y.html

WOW love the science behind it, makes so much sense to me because I study biology, this is one of the most helpful natural hair videos , particularly for my hair which I think is 4c the thickest kiniest hair possible.
I'm so glad I found this channel. Not because I have this type of hair, but because I was always curious how black women worked their magic to obtain such a wide range of amazing and expressive hair styles, but was too afraid to ask because I didn't want to seem rude. Now I know just a little bit more.
You must have a degree in chemistry! Your frequent reference to elements, compounds, and structure of proteins is quite impressive (I'm going to college and might get a degree in chemistry!)

It's crazy how many people have an issue with the term "nappy" when I was a kid the term "kinky" was also frowned upon but was embraced when the company Kinky Curly decided to launch a line putting the terms kinky and curly together. Most black women don't realize that we've been taught all our lives that everything about us is offensive. Our Skin if it's too dark, our hair if it's not fine or loose enough our speech if it's not clear and concise enough our ability if we aren't acceptable enough. The truth is you have a problem with Nappy because you've been told Nappy hair isn't beautiful, because you've been told you are an insult to humanity if you are black. The truth is you are beautiful and there is a difference between unruly and nappy and neither one is better than the other. if you don't have curls at all or have a head full you are still flawless.

Arielmybelle that's not the point, yo. The point is that the word nappy is a historically derogatory word used AGAINST blacks WITH KINKY AND SHORT HAIR. It was never seen as good.

Krayola D my hair is nappy if I don't detangle it and beautiful no matter what so... why are you attacking me based on my opinion? You're standing against the term nappy being a used for a black persons hair but trying to insult the black person that said it? Then you're basically saying the "Cherokee" in your blood is what makes your hair beautiful? So you basically just proved my point. black people that believe the stereotype are the only ones that have a problem with the term nappy.
I use to finger-detangle dampened hair with coconut oil before shampooing. Now, I finger-detangle with a homemade glycerin spritz, coconut oil and conditioner. Both methods work well for my 4b/c hair. I also wash my hair in 10 twists to avoid breakage.
I can listen to your voice all day. It's so beautiful and relaxing lol. Also you are very pretty and I love your hair!!!

Hello my name is Michiko and i enjoy your natural hair care videos. I just finished my Associate in Science Degree at the City College here in Chicago. You are so right about keeping natural hair in a stretched state and not letting your hair get so matted that you will have to get the matted hair cut off. I also have a bottle of your ph stablizing spritz. You have a great amount of patience in caring for your natural hair. Keep up the good work on how to take care of natural hair. And oh, do you have a favorite shampoo and conditioner?

Same here! I give up. I don't even know anymore. Most oils have the opposite effect of what everyone says it has on theirs. Coconut and olive oil just seem to make my hair even more dry than it was before. I use cantu products like jojoba and tea tree oil as well as black castor oil and they seem to fair better on my hair, but i still don't see a huge difference.

God bless you and your team. I been trying to find a way to keep my daughter's hair moisturized and easier to manage. Using coconut oil to detangle and leave in conditioner after washing was awesome. For the first time after washing her hair it was not rough and dried by the time I was have way finished styling it. Thank you so much for the well directed, filmed, edited videos. Continue the awesome job.

Love, love, your channel!
I rediscovered coconut oil about 2 days before watching your video and YES I will cosign on the coconut oil bandwagon. I tried it 2 years ago and hated it but for some reason I tried it again couple of days ago and just slapped a glob on and it gave my hair LIFE! The detangling and after shampoo feeling was too good to be true.
I LOVE your videos! Thanks for the education! What would you recommend for women who are losing hair on the edges?
your hair is beautiful!

HyGral Fatigue :-)....love the information you provide!
@Greenbeauty hi, I've been watching your videos lately. I absolutely love all the information I'm learning. It's very detailed and I'm learning a lot. And I'm just starting my hair journey. So I'm looking to everything to help on my hair journey. But it feel like everything so overwhelming as I learn. Like what I shouldn't do or do so it's difficult. But I've always been natural. But I never put energy in my hair. Expect washing bi weekly and putting it into a protective hairstyles. Now I've found that high porosity hair and it very thick and medium dense. I'm just trying to find out a good place to start. I've started moisturizing my hair daily with loc method I usually use aloe vera spray or leave in hair milk spray, leave in cream, and castor oil or coconut oil. But still my hair comes out frizzy even after moisturizing it daily. For wash day, I don't have complete regiment yet. But I usually wash my hair bi weekly: shampoo, deep conditioner hair mask, rice water rinse (for my protein treatment), and then the loc method. Overall, I'm highly frustrated, confused, and stressed. Because I don't where to start on my hair journey. I was wondering if I could get some tips or info that could help me get started on my whole hair journey. Thank you, jamarrea
Thanks for sharing your video. I live all the information you put out there. How do prepare my own hydrating oil, do you have any oil ideas in mind.
Your natural hair is so pretty 😍
I will never detangle any other way! After 5 wks of mini twists and 1.5 wks of a mini twist out, this method saved my life... And my strands thank you kindly ;-) lol!
Great video! I'm going to try this method on my next wash day! :-)
Your videos help me to better understand my hair and to have patience with it. I hope you do updos with your hair soon.
I love your video . what I know about coconut oil that does not penetrate in your hair the molecule are too bi , much better for the skin, jojoba is much better oil for that it penetrate and lean at the same times. also almond is great also. thank you I love your channel
@Deangirl86

livioangel jojoba oil is the closest to our natural sebum. Coconut oil on the other hand DOES penetrate the hair shaft and it’s one of the few. Jojoba doesn’t. She knows this topic very well.
I watch anyones detangling video doesn't matter what the hair type. Well, as long as you have Afro Hair. I'm 4a I can tell you that detangling is hard for me as well. The water for detangling matters as well. I live in LA and Miami detangling my hair in Miami is like 30-45 mins in LA it can take up to 2-3 hours if I don't have a filter on my shower head. I love coconut oil I even cook with it.
my hair is nappy and I'm still happy
I love her skin
So robe just recommended your channel im about to binge haha your like the new kimmy
Nice methods used I guess that's why my hair was shedding so much!!! Your knowledge about your is impressive Thank you so much for this I never gave time for the coconut oil or any product to sit on my hair before detangling! I will definitely used this method in 3-4weeks. What do you recommend for women that wear 3-4 week protective styles? Thank you your advice is well appreciative! Have a bless day!!

I am in love with your videos!! Is it possible for your tresses to get product and oil build up? If so what's the fix?
Thank you for this tip. I love your videos because I learn a lot about my hair and how to care for it. I do the onion juice right before I shampoo. Should I consider the onion treatment as prepoo treatment and if so is it okay to add some oil to it so that I can detangle as you have demonstrated?
I get so excited when I see you have new videos posted. This was so helpful because I often get frustrated at the time and effort it takes to detangle and twist my hair! Is it ok that I don't like the modified den man brush? I tried it and it felt as if it created more tension on my strands. I love all your videos and thank u so much for the time and effort you put into them!!!!

Hey Thanks... not everyone has the same experience with the Modified Denman Brush. If your detangling method is thorough, efficient and safe stick to it.
Interesting as I've never put much thought into detangling before washing- I usually detangle only enough to be able to make twists and then do a full detangle during the washing process. I might have to try incorporating one before as well.
I can't tell you how happy I am to have browsed and found your channel. You're very informative, and you've grabbed yourself a new subbie. Pleased to meet you. I have been wondering if what I've been doing was the GHE or a pre-poo, and your pre-poo vid had just confirmed that. so I went straight to your channel and this vid was recently loaded. I'm not sure tho if what I did was ok, because I slept with the coconut oil in my hair over night, and I'm about to wash it out. However I did not detangle before pre-pooing, so not sure how effective this is going to be now. All in all, I'm very glad I found your channel.

Hi I am new to your channel. I am so glad I found you just in time, because while I love my natural, tightly coiled, very fragile hair, I am so stressed out because I don't see the growth I should have after 2 years. I don't see the growth I achieved when I was relaxed. My hair will not retain length so matter what products I buy, or what methods I try. I am seriously thinking about Texlaxing/Relaxing my hair again. But NOW I found you. I am Loving your videos Thank you so much! I have been natural for 2 years. I have found that Apple Cider Vinegar helps keep my hair tangle free, soft, and stretched. PH is about 4 right? So can I use ACV everyday as part of a leave- in conditioner mixture regimen on my hair? Is ACV safe to use on our hair daily? If no what would you suggest?
