As someone who has attended GDC, I can say not all stages are fully closed, and multiple events take place at the same time. I have seen plenty of talks were everyone was in silence and paying close attention but you could still hear the noise from outside even when the doors were closed. But it's also very possible that the doors were left open and there was a community space right in front of it, and depending on the convention center and the room/configuration sometimes there aren't even walls.

@@_KondoIsami_ thanks! It's fun to make jokes, but I do like knowing the reality of it. Most things I see that look really stupid usually have a better explanation. I still feel a little bad that the venue doesn't have a good recording (and maybe listening) environment. I actually like JBlow's talks. This just doesn't seem like GDC has things set up well.

It was uploaded 10 years ago on one of my old channels. I closed that channel, but this video was so popular that I moved it across to the new channel.

Yeah, cause I really want to listen to a pretentious Carmack wannabe who's made 2 boring uninspired games in his 30 year career tell me about how to innovate. Blow only works 5 hours per day, (30%) and yet he thinks he's a super coder. Jblow is low mid tier, behind dozens of more talented developers. The main reason he gets attention is that he's an outrage troll like Kanye and Donald Trump. Sad.

5-hours a day? What's wrong with that though. Seems like a great work-life balance.

I highly doubt you have any idea what his work schedule is. To call Braid and The Witness uninspired is also pretty wild to me, so it seems like the real outrage troll might actually be you

Lol, probably the worst take in the history of takes. The Trump comment at the end pretty much explains everything, and I don't even like Trump. It takes a special level of envious and stupid...
