This is gold! Thank you for sharing, it really feels like unlocking the formula to perfect logo shapes. As a graphic design student, this video absolutely blew my mind. Wish they taught us this at school. Definitely following your channel, and I love my Logitech MX Master 3 mouse. Absolutely recommend it for creative professionals! 😊

@@liamcalpine I am not a Logo designer particularly, I am UI/UX designer and my major tool was Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator is my favorite free time.
Dude I’ve been waiting for someone to make a good video on this for a while. Cheers

Just revisited your channel such a big glow-up! It’s amazing and I hope success for you and this channel!
you never explained the principle behind grids, it just seems like instructions for a specific logo not understanding the principle of logo design using grids

@@tech_gigs5384 yep, and most graphics-related searches today end up his or Satori graphics videos - and Satori's are worse because of the incredibly clickbaity titles. Will's at least give some insight though they often end up a waste of time for not exploring the actual title subject...
Hey Will, superb Video, I was literally waiting for this one, Thank You very much!! 👍
This method is so simple, but it's a GAME CHANGER. Thanks so much for showing! I am learning to use Illustrator as a hobby, or possibly as a career.

It's pretty simple, you're my mentor(graphic design). well detailed, point on point and you got me something into my brain, i am a beginner. Thank you.
This single tutorial should have been shown in first year in Art colleges rather than a 3 hours lecture in which still we didn't know how to make a freaking simple logo 🤷

Sorry mate. Art schools are for meeting people. It's like a very expensive real live dating app. You should have studied something real and learn your craft on the side.

@@copypaste3526 dont say bs like that. many art schools have great professors who have a lot of experience and can save you from a fuck ton of struggles, with great lectures and even greater textbooks accessible to you. yes, you can meet people there and make contacts thatll ease your future life, but its far from the only thing you get from it.

Thanks for this video. Interesting to see different way to develop logos. It would be interesting to now if there are any special considerations to take into account when selecting a grid. Are there any special grids?
Thanks for this great video on grids Will!
Thanks i just got the idea! Ur way to explain this make it very easy for me. Best explanation ever for a grid logo ^^. I appreciate ur hard work :).

Great video! Just note that when you shrank the icon, your stroke size didn't scale down with it (can be changed in preferences). Good video though for anyone creating logo/symbols :-)
Really learned a lot from your videos and specially discovering new terms such as white spaces, negative spaces, etc. I Hope you can do more stuff on Typography and Monogram but those that looks timeless not trendy. Cheers for amazing videos.
Love it 🙌🏼

I am new to Illustrator, but I am advanced with Photoshop. And yes, there is a difference and just a bit of a learning curve for Illustrator coming from Photoshop. You are by far, hands down - the utmost helpful KZread Illustrate user that I have found and is incredibly kind to post free tutorials, tips & tricks videos. Thank you, so so much for all of the amazing videos and tutorials that have taught me incredible amounts of invaluable knowledge. Question though, what was your "Grid" setup? Is your Grid setup standard, as in: Gridline every: 72px AND Subdivisions: 8? Thank you again for everything! - Your newest Fan! ;)

Loved the video. I noticed that in the B roll videos he’s using his tablet instead of the mouse, because of the gesture he uses to zoom in with the magnifying glass 😂 I thought it was funny, cause it’s a seamless transition.

to get my grid to look like yours i first had to go into preferences>guides & grid> and then change settings to "gridline every 36 px" and make the subdivisions only 4. why not just show what hitting the preferences button looks like...
