In the MacOS Ventura update, the process for file access is different...and I also found an easier way of accessing the Final Cut backup files. A faster way to reach the files: Click on Finder Icon, then in top left click "Go" from the Go Menu, select "Home", from Home you can see all of the auto-generated folders, click on Movies and you'll find the Final Cut Backups, Motion Templates, and TV folders (you may also find your old libraries here. Hope this helps!

This video is amazing and I have watched it several times! But I accidentally deleted the "Final Cut Backups" folder that you mention not to do at 2:53. How do I get it back?
@finnagainandagain
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You can just recreate the "Final Cut Backups" folder by double-clicking on the "Movies" folder and right-click to create a new folder, and then name that folder "Final Cut Backups" I think FCPX might just generate it automatically though (not 100% sure though)

The annoying thing is I can't find a way to delete individual projects. You can move to trash in final cut but that doesn't do anything or free up any space.

You need to clean generated file data inside the a liberary befor backing it up for reuse in future.

Thanks man! Soo I wonder how many people are involved in programming and checking Final Cut??? and WHY they would all think THIS was an acceptable way to start a new project from scratch!!!! RIDICULOUS. NUMPTIES.... as I message you from my new iMac lol ... I hate em.... btw it's more steps to do what you showed now with the new IOS... good work apple.... idiots...

@@finnagainandagain i believe cleaning generated files within fcp is more convenient and safe method. I dont have a video but i'll add a written guide to this comment later for sure.

That would be awesome! This wasn't meant to be a safe method and maybe I should have specified that in the description. I just had so many problems when I started video editing with running out of storage space because I couldn't figure out how to permanently remove the old library files. Cheers!
