Just a friendly reminder to anyone who is going to do this, please make sure your Oil cap, oil dipstick, Transmission oil, areas are all closed and secure first. Cover up your alternator also. Also make sure your fuse box is properly closed and sealed, you don't want any moisture in the fuse box. :)

Bro you didn’t know but with engine degreaser mate you don’t need to cover the alternator just detach the negative battery terminal doing this will stop any power circling around, then spray the whole engine wait 10-15mins then wash off once done let it all dry out completely then re-attach the negative battery terminal and you have a clean engine.

I know I’m late to the party (2yrs, lol) but the GUNK foam works better. Also, agitate the bay with soft brush, detail brushes & even a wheel bush. Rinse off, use a blower (I use a leaf blower) & let air dry. Then use an engine dressing to make the black pop.

It's main solvent is kerosene and diesel which is the least corrosive to aluminum, paint, rubber, and plastics. Other brands do pit aluminum due to the use of lye based solvents which is known to etch and dissolve paint if left on too long and heavily saturated. Only complaint is the strong solvent smell of kerosene and diesel.

After spraying it off I wiped it down with shop blue paper towels which forced some of the lossened grime up into the towels and disposed of them as I went around.

@@Willppyro absolutely true bro that's most likely the way I would do it. It just takes patience however its worth it rather then a potential of damaging anything or paint ect...be very careful but that's a solid point. Also some guys will say you don't have to cover ALT this is true but it only takes a min, and you're guaranteed not to damage anything, along with other electrical components. When working on other people's cars or even your own my opinion it's a must to treat it like a million dollar car if you want to keep it looking good and most of all the vehicle running forever staying in good condition 🤙💯🙏💪Much respect 🔥 Peace ✌️

I just tried it on my valve covers with baked on oil. It does work but you can’t just spray it on and spray it off like these videos. I sprayed it on, let sit for 15 mins then scrubbed rinsed it off and sprayed it again and kept doing that about 4 times. It took some off, mostly what was somewhat loose and still kinda wet. The stuff that’s been baked on there and dried up is hard to get off but this stuff will soften it up it’ll just take some time and scrubbing. I’d recommend getting the heavy duty one if you can, that’d work better for this stuff.
