@Luke Adair first off may I say that you shouldn't make challenges or threats to people especially in our day and time. When I posted this message I was simply pointing out that if someone does not know how to use. A particular weapon then they should not use it is wisdom and wisdom is knowledge but you sir who came across the way you did you know less then the individual that I originally wrote this letter to maybe it would be a good idea for you instead of posting something like this find something that makes you happy... The one thing I will say is I've run into many people like yourselves who act like tough guys but if it came down to it in the street you'd be the first one to run again find something that makes you happy and stick with it have a good day

Vast majority of the empty hand martial arts are actually derived from battlefield weapon arts. I can tell that this is the sort of thing one would have found in an old weapons kata. There isn't really any "empty hand" martial arts is all derived from weapon arts, this is likely some sort of kae waza for the event you have lost your weapon. The key thing to take away is the positioning of the neck to effect a break & using gravity to assist it. How you get there is how you find yourself there. Peace 🙏 lol (Muso Shinden Ryu 5yrs study)

he teaches very well but I wonder how much of this would be feasible in real life. I used to train in Wing Tsun, they said that you can use your enemy's strenght against him without warm up and even if you're weaker and it all seemed amazing. Then I got into wrestling and I understood that without an adequate physical training you can't win any fight so... the more you try new martial arts/combat sports the more you understand that fighting isn't easy and there are many scammers

This on the other hand looks like movie stuff and too many uneccesarry techniques. He literally cuts his stomach and then his neck, at this point the fight will be long over already assuming the other guy has still not done anything, because apparently that's what real life is like, irony off. And then he still feels the need to snap his neck at the end to make it look extra brutal.

@@kaen4299 That's just the variation execution, depending on the opponent's move. Only one cut or move is needed, but there are so many option available for the Silat practitioner to end the fight. That's the flexibility of Silat. For me, full Silat will never be needed for current peace world. Full Silat is totally for war, there is no limit attached, only kill. BJJ is good, for combat sport, but unpractical for war. In war, Group vs Group always be the frontline fight, no one will want to have 1 v 1 fight in the real world unless it is force by circumstances. But the one I wanted for any martial arts to do is the inclusion of gun in their move. Krav Maga and US Military martial art are examples of gun inclusion in their end move. I also know Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia also practice Silat+Other martial arts in their military drill. The most important thing for any martial arts practitioner is to totally understand their body and weapon. it is just a drill with reference points-entries and finishes. People use to say the same thing about spin kicks, jump kicks, etc in UFC now everyone is doing them. I just saw a live leak video of a guy duck a live machete attack like a kung fu move, smother the guy than take him down. You cannot say something is innefective if you only see one side of the coin. I used to think that about another style of silat, then by sheer luck I was able to train in that specific lineage and in person, the moves that looked silly were some of the most effective techniques I had ever encountered...I just did not understand the context when watching them on video. Now I reserve my judgement for the most part.
