How to Defend in 2v2 | Gameplay Analysis

Ойындар

Hey guys, I'm here with a 2v2 gameplay video. I've had some requests for 2s content, so I focused hard on explaining my defensive decisions. I'm confident this will help you rank up!
If you have any questions, ask away! Also, thank you for watching and supporting the channel. I've been having so much fun grinding the game and making content.

    Excellent fundamentals. Hovering on any threat of an aerial. Being sideways and shadowing as 2nd, and initiating most offence with a quick flick, some of the best rocket league I have watched, thanks for this video!

    That is some hiqh IQ play. Extremely useful! I'm hovering around high C1 and low C2 in 2s and am basically at the end of both my mechanics and game sense. Would be interesting to see analysis of games around that level where lower player ability makes the play style quite different as well.

    I actually want to do more videos per week. Not daily but maybe 3-4 times a week. Doing an analysis day for stuff like this could be a good idea! I'm gonna get comfortable in doing 2 a week, but perhaps in the coming months (especially after the RLCS season wraps up).

    Amazing content, I've just subbed to your channel. I'm myself a great fan of Flakes, and watch a lot of Mawkzy. I really loves the way you describe things, like you, I'm more into developing my gameplay around how to outsmart than outspeed. But like Mawkzy is saying time to time, stop saying I'm not mechanical, recoveries, 50s, fakes, dashes timing, even Flakes side cuts, or simple bounce dribble are all true and hard mechanics to master. I wish you the best in your endeavor to be a full time content creator from now on.

    This is how I play in C3 and it works if your teammate has good decision making but most of the time if I play slower like this and trust my teammate to make the proper play behind me we get scored on. What kind of playstyle would work in C3 where you can’t totally rely on your teammate? Just try to hard carry?

  • @Kevpert

    @Kevpert

    Жыл бұрын

    I mean, I think you should still focus on team work. It's part of a balanced approach - 1. work on your mechanics individually; 2. When you have the ball, try to carry; 3. When the opponents have the ball, try to work as a team. At C3, you can do a lot to impact the play without even touching the ball. Making smart decisions on the ball/when pressing will put your teammate in the best situation to make a good play. That's a big part of what 2s teamwork is.

    Sometimes I watch your videos but forget to comment. But I really wanna be vocal here that I really liked this video! Love that your making 2s content. I got a few dumb questions too, if that’s okay. First, context, I play 2s and never ever ever play ranked. But I’m around a C1 in my casual lobbies, based of the lobbies responses. I don’t want to put a tonne of effort in, I’d rather just gleam some decision making insights to improve my play a bit. Questions: 1) 4:11. I KNOW I would’ve tried to push in front of my tm here with that one pad, (cos tm’s low boost too) and lunge at the ball to block angles and give tm time to recover boost and position better. You kinda rotated to the right and stayed grounded instead. Why? 2) 7:18 I KNOW I would’ve got closer and 50d the ball. I can see why that’s dumb, but can you break down how what you did was different and better? You did end up touching it soon after, and the opponent went flying. But for me, that same touch could’ve easily become a 50. And if they stayed in control of the ball/behind it the whole time, what would’ve you done then? When would’ve you attacked it? Or would you have backpost rotated?

  • @Kevpert

    @Kevpert

    Жыл бұрын

    Great questions! 1. I'm just keeping track of the opponents. I saw one guy flip across net, so if the ball pops up like that, no one can score. So I just rotate right to get a few pads - nothing to panic about! 2. This one's easy. My teammate didn't get their 100 or the mid 100. So he's probably going for the back 100, so if I immediately challenge, I could take myself out of the game and leave him in a 2v1/1v1. I also read the opponent wiggling, and he never used boost - probably because he was 0 - so I did a single jump challenge to pop it over him. If they 50 it when it's closer to my teammate, he's in a better position to defend too. All I think about is "only challenge if you can create offense or win possession". I think I followed that guideline here.
