Still works as of May 21st, 2023. It'll probably work forever since there's zero reason for them to ever update the game. 3 key points when doing this: - Stand close enough to the edge (like right on it), thats what stops them from climbing up behind you. - The narrow walkway immediately to your right can overfill with them and cause them to climb on top of each other to get to you. You're not up there for sight-seeing, so make sure to keep them depleted. - If you run out of explosives to kill them with, obviously you can shoot straight down to thin them out, but to also save bullets by not shooting rhings that are already dead, you can turn around (facing the way you climbed up), take a step in that direction to make them climb up, then take a step back to your default spot and kill them.

I spent an hour doing this mission until I realised I could go back to my camp to refill ammo and come back without losing progress on the hoard red bar

If you stay away too long the horde replenishes itself

The other easy way to do this I found by pure chance the second time I played the game through. Wait until night-time and the horde is feeding, which they do in a sort of pit between the wrecked train and the main mill building. Sneak through the gap under the wrecked train, and from behind the fence, chuck an attractor, followed a few seconds later by couple of napalm molotovs or frag grenades. It wipes about a quarter of them out, and the rest can't get over the fence to get to you, so they have to go the long way round using the steps on the far side. By the time they even start doing this, you can duck back under the train and round the corner out of sight. They almost immediately give up chasing, and go back to feeding. Repeat 2-3 more times and you're done. I only fired about half a dozen shots to clear up the stragglers. First time I did this, involved lots of set traps, a long chase, lots of stamina cocktails and health cocktails, hundreds of rounds of ammo and about 20 attempts before I nailed it lol

Yesterday I just completed this game. And I will say this game is a masterpiece & the hordes are so enjoyable throughout the game.

I like the little panic roll back to the ground when you realized that they noticed you

that's one fireproof sawmill....

This still works as of today on PS4 (5/13/2023). Just make sure you stand on the far edge as shown! I made the mistake of standing one step in and they annihilated me the first try. Thank you so much for the video!

I'm going to try and follow along tonight.

Still works as of 13 Feb 22. Literally stand in that one spot, DO NOT LOOK AROUND. Just look forward. Best way is to have attractors and crafting materials for more attractors because sometimes the dead bodies get in the way and act as cover for the rest of them, so if you can spread them out with attractors, it's an easy win. I did it in 2 attempts. Didn't have enough ammo for my first attempt so had to bail 😂

So quick question, if you kill 80% of hoard and sell the ears and come back a day later will they respawn ? or only 20% wil be left ?

it depends if you save your progress or not if you save after killing 80% less or more of the horde and even after selling the ears the horde that remains will still be there

@@stephongriffin5261 make sure your bike have a saddlebag filled with ammo then u must have max napalm Molotov and max attractors then climb to the area where told in video horde will come throw an attractor where horde came from ok once it get crowded throw napalm Molotov and then repeat a few times throw attractor and napalm Molotov and make sure that u are making no sound while throwing the attractor be crouched.if u need any further help do tell me

2 player co-op would be cool taking out hordes. 1 could drive the bike the other person sitting on the back turnt backwards spraying the horde as it chases you.

This game got ot of hate. Not every game is gonna be flawless. This is one best games I've played in a while. Enjoyed my time with it for sure!!!

I preferred running for my life to get that adrenaline pumping

This worked for me first try. You have to be on the edge, have a lot of napalm etc. and be able to replenish but it works! 2/21/2023!😁

Love the game, I hope they do DG2. There is one thing I love about sawmill. It's made of wood but you can throw all Molotovs in the world that it stands still. Good wood

The way I beat this horde was basically attracting some the freakers away from the horde and leading them to the tunnel, because when the horde chases you to the tunnel eventually most of them will give up and go back to the barn, and you take out the remaining ones that don’t give up (left my bike at the tunnel entrance for safe measure) repeated that process 20 times and killed all of them, wish I had seen this video beforehand😐😐😐

Why don't play the game in a way it's supposed to be ??? The Feeling of being chased and slowly running out of stamina and Ammo is really intense and dope. Its the fun you are missing out Mate. ( No Hate )

STILL WORKS Just make sure you stand correctly on the platform like he did, I did it in 3times

so, i recently started playing on PC (first playthrough) and i ran through the woods, it was dark and raining and i hear growling. i sneaked up there to see like 30-40 zombies and already shit my pants 😅 atmosphere in this game is amazing and running from them, crashing ur bike into a tree and getting swarmed by them is actually terrifiying

It's a solid Zombie game with solid bike riding mechanics. No 'super' zombies like the fantasy variety - the hordes are enough.

Thank you so much I almost ran out of bullets because I didn't have very many attractors to begin with and not a lot of molotovs but your trick saved me but you're right you have to stand in that particular spot otherwise they'll get to you I tried like five times until I beat it because I wasn't standing exactly at the right spot

I DID THIS YESTERDAY !!! I had such hard time doing it, got killed many times, had to level up every camp to get the best weapons just for this, until i gave up and searched for the easiest way, i got this video and it worked perfectly😍 You guys just have to stand exactly where this person did, dont look back much, use the attractor and you should be good

Hey maan thaaanksss 😂😂 finaly did it, spent a whole day fighting this horde finaly this technique worked out. I went to the gas stations and collect enough kerosene and materials then i get back here, the method worked, though i went out of explosives and molotovs but i used my guns and finish'em thanks man 🎉

If only I discovered your videos earlier... Today I beat the game and it would have been so much easier with your method. Keep it up

I cleared out the sawmill before I went to the south part of the map. Didn't want to leave the north part before I did everything. So when it came time for the last mission, he just parked the truck with what they needed

A new safety spot. I can even smell the smoke.

Excellent vid, killed the horde on normal with this without napalm jugs unlocked. Very nice for ear farm for tuckers camp.

As of 1/5/24 this actually still works but I failed a lot because I wasn’t prepared with supplies

Did this today, stood exactly where he did. No issues whatsoever. After several frags, napalms, pipe bombs.....cleared easily. Just made sure to keep the hoarde in front of me the whole time with attractors.

@@acgi9 after 7 attempts I was finally about to do it. Definitely the hardest part of the game for me. This might be one of my favorite games

You can also use the narrow bridge to the right of the saw mill. It goes across the water so they can't go around. Great bottle neck. Explosives and the special machine gun did the rest

The "unfun" way to beat the saw mill horde is more like it. Trust me if you are struggling with it go back to the drawing board plan it out and beat it you'll feel so much cooler if you do! My first run I even somewhat mimicked what they did in the e3 gameplay preview of it and it was just so awesome man. Make it fun and as cinematic as possible and you will love it.

I might do this one with this glitch because I’m trying to keep only a primary weapon on my back for the playthrough. Deacon starts looking ridiculous carrying a rifle + a machine gun on his back.

This is one of my favorite games!

Tried it as of today June 5, 2023 and still works. As long as you stay on that platform, you are safe. Just make sure you pack a ton of ammo and EXPLOSIVES! Also the attractors still work after the fact the horde notices you. Hope this helps as well! Thank you for the video!

Did this on PC last week and I can confirm if you're on the platform you're for the most part safe. The horde starts to pile up on top of each other if you dont clear them quick enough enabling some to get onto the platform with you and knock you off. This happened pretty consistently for me. Reguardless it makes it a lot more manageable as if you do get knocked off youll likely have a good chunk of the hoarde already dead.

Gonna need some crackers for all this cheese. 4 different attempts finally had enough. Thank you so much man.

Lol. I suffered so much trying to clear this horde. I ran and ran and ran. Lol. But it made it more worthwhile when I finished it today. Maybe if I do another play through I will try this method for a laugh.

In reality the entire mill would be up in flames, taking you with it.

One problem with open world games is that your own dedication for grinding is tied to the difficulty of the endgame. At the point of this mission I was so OP that there could have been double the amount of freaks to offer real challenge. Still it was very intense ngl, but I had very much ammo and loot left.
