Yeti tumblers are dishwasher safe. Remove the gasket. Remove the slider part. Put it all in the dishwasher. Done.
Make sure rubber gasket is facing correctly or it will not work properly.

Oh yes, definitely important reminder to have the wider blade up closer to lid. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching! 🙂

That was explained in the video.
A toothpick or prying is not necessary if the gasket is warm. Grasp the gasket between your thumb and index finger across the lid's diameter and pull. It helps if it is fairly clean and wet, as during routine washing with dish soap and water.

Great, useful instructional video. The duration is just right. It gives the necessary information without running on. I'll subscribe to the channel.
Thanks for the easy to follow instructions. I definitely need to do this soon.
I have done this cleaning weekly. After someone told me about the illness.
I've also used denture cleaner to clean the mug, itself. Hot water, two denture cleaner tablets, let it soak 10-15 minutes. Pour it out and immediately wipe out the inside while it's still wet. If there's still coffee stain, repeat. It shouldn't take more than 1-2 times to get all the stains out. I'm glad to know about the vinegar and dish detergent. Thanks!

Jeez I feel bad , I have like a dozen Yeti tumblers of various sizes and some I’ve had for 10 years and have never done this to them . I guess I must drink enough cocktails out of them that it must keep them clean . Now I’m going to be thinking about that gasket . Thanks for sharing
Never took the gasket off but will from now on. Never thought my cleaning was thorough. Now, I know it really wasn’t. Will do this in future.

You have to take the gasket off to clean underneath it. I do it with an old toothbrush 🪥 and it gets the job done!

Yes, definitely try to clean the gasket often as bacteria can build up behind the gasket and possibly mold. 😳 Appreciate your comment and thanks for watching! 🙂

Taking the gasket off is the key. Nasty black stuff is under there and on the gasket itself.
I heard in a news report about a couple that ended up hospitalized because of this reason of people not washing the rubber gaskets.

Yep it's scary, bacteria can build behind the gaskets and potentially become mold. 😳 Def should wash often. Thanks for watching! 🙂
My Yeti tumbler lid is a removable screw top. No slider, nor gasket either, but this video is informative. Thank you.

Barkeepers Friend works excellent on the tumbler and anything else stainless steel, mine looks like new, as does my 15 year old pots and pans. I will definitely try your method on the lid, gasket and slider though.
I use an old toothbrush but not the vinegar. Will do that now! 👍🏽

Yep, old toothbrushes are handy! Thanks for watching! 🙂
I remove my rubber seal and clean it after each use. Never had an obnoxious odor smell .Don’t need to use vinegar just dishwashing soap works fine.
Put a couple of drops of vegetable oil on the gasket after you install it on the lid and before you put it on the tumbler. It will work much better.
Thank you

Get a little basket for your dishwasher. The type used to wash baby bottle accessories. Take the lid apart and put all of the pieces in the basket. Easy peasy and you won't have all of that grimy build up

Absolutely agree on the basket in dishwasher for lid gasket, on “Sanitize function” being the easier method.

@@carolinaember Thanks for replying! I did check on Yeti's website before you replied and they are indeed dishwasher safe. Your experience confirms that. Many of these insulated mugs are not dishwasher safe, so I would consider that a real plus of Yeti products.
The best way I've found to clean any tumbler is a dishwasher tablet. It comes out looking like new! I leave it soak for a half hour or so and then i pour that into another bottle.

Magic eraser cleans the tumbler itself faster than anything I've tried.
I would also recommend either using a clean bottle brush on the inside of the container, or run it thru the dishwasher. It’s stainless steel, so it is OK in the dishwasher. You never want to put aluminum containers in there though.
For as much as they charge for them they should clean themselves 🎉
I use denture cleaner (e.g., Polident) to clean.

How many people took a swig from the cup while cleaning the lid?
You can take them apart after each use and run them through the dishwasher
How did YT know that I have this model? This video was put on my suggestion screen without asking. It was a gift & I never researched tumblers. Creepy.

I ordered this model of Yeti tumbler through Amazon. It was delivered yesterday afternoon. Today, this video shows up on my YT feed. You are correct, this is creepy. Perhaps Amazon AI is communicating with YT's?

You have a email associated with Amazon and KZread. That's how they know. It know what your doing @mikefisc9989
You can also use a 50/50 mixture of Clorox with water in a spray bottle. Spray the bottle from the top down. Let it soak for a few minutes and then rinse good. This mixture will break all the proteins in the coffee and will make shiny.

A simple dishwashing sponge and dish soap will do just fine. And that magnetic slide should be removed and cleaned after each use. The cup shown was filthy to begin with.
I take the gasket off every time I wash it. I never have a problem with odor in my cup. If you leave it together to wash it, that's nasty.
I use an old toothbrush for everyday cleaning.

I wash mine by hand after every time I use it. Including the rubber ring. Just nasty not to!
Ok, but how do I remove the coffee stain from the lid?
@nathanbell6712

That’s what the vinegar does
I use denture cleaning tablets. Let the tablet soak for 10 min and voila! Like new
Also do not store with lid on
Just bleach it! For crying out loud. 😅
Now the musty smell is gone. It’s been replaced by the smell of vinegar.
@pamelah6431
Ай бұрын
That smell disappears.
Spray bleach cleaner
Caps suck. Won’t stay closed.
Although this good, don't store with lid on when it's not going to be used. Be mind full of how stiff the bristles on brush you may use so as not scratch making places for schmutz to collect.
You mean the solution isnt just buy a new one? My wife has 600 of these things.
I have never understood how parents put their kids sippy cups in the dishwasher and think it’s clean. Yyyuuuck! , ,
LOL, the lid was already clean. Try it on a really dirty lid.
Wow i can't Imagine not cleaning your cup on a regular basis ! Just plain nasty 😮
Dont remove parts , you'll need to buy a new cuz the parts get loose

This AI text-to-speech narration is horrible.
The best way to care for a yeti cup is to trash it and get a thermos cup. They’re better cups and don’t have an anti 2A philosophy.
Oxiclean, or better, pure sodium percarbonate, will clean better and remove discoloration of stainless steel. Home brewers use this to clean their equipment. I have a Yeti that was gifted to me. The Walmart Ozark Trail works just as well for less than a third of the price. Tested both hot and cold…identical performance.
Pretty pathetic that people need a video of how to wash something.
