What a great idea of putting the decoupage paper on the mirror. It really does look like a portrait. The glazes take this beautiful vanity to a new level. Thanks for a great video.
This is a wonderful way to think outside the box, not using the mirror as a mirror, but as art. Love the idea. Thank you.

Cassandra Smith Hi Cassandra! Thank you for the feedback and kind words!!! Glad you are learning from my tutorials! Yes, this decoupage technique is a nice way to cover up and old mirror/glass especially if it has scratches or a crack in it! Often I find old pieces of furniture with cracked mirrors yet the rest of the furniture piece is perfectly fine. Thanks again for subscribing and your support it’s greatly appreciated!!! 💕🙏🎨

Love the transformation! Well, for someone who has never decoupaged before, you did a great job. I mostly decoupage because that's what I like to do and also because I am a horrible painter. Thank you for giving great tutorial/techniques. I have learned a lot about painting furniture from watching your videos! Happy New Year!

Love this piece! Your video came at such a great time...I am going to be doing the same sort of thing with a poster I have, also placing it on a large mirror due to the largeness of the poster and the great thrift find of the mirror. You have inspired me to really make my piece awesome as well. Thanks dear!

It may have been a nice idea to keep the mirror and do the decoupage on the flip side. When not using the mirror you can flip it to the art

Love the decoupaged mirror! ❤️ One question though it seems that you did the wash over dry chalk paint, I learned that I should seal my chalk paint with wax or varnish prior to applying a wash so as not to reactivate the chalk paint base and make a mess, did u seal prior to the wash?
I think I would remove the mirror glass and put it in backwards and decoupage over the reverse side (now facing on front frame side of the mirror) then its just a flip of the picture to catch your image befor you go out.

Hi Genevieve! Good idea!!! ❤️🎨🙏
Perfect timing. I’m going to do an old bureau with similar mirror and I’ll use your idea. I’m wondering-what would it look like with lighter glaze instead of dark? Any thoughts?
@TheReclaimedHeirloom
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Janis for your kind comment 🙏 Definitely try the lighter glaze if for any reason you are not happy it’s much easier to try light and go darker than the other way around ! But I am visioning the lighter glaze and I really think it would definitely be fantastic 💙🎨 If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤗

So excited to try decopage! It looks like the color wash is the key to blending the line between the picture and the surface. What do you think about adding a crackle and a dark wax to add aging to the picture? Just a thought. . . Christina you did a beautiful job on this one! Each video I watch encourages me more and more, thank you♡
@TheReclaimedHeirloom

Nikki Lloyd ... you are a clever gal!! I thought about the crackle and wax ... it’s brilliant!!! You could do both colour wash , add crackle and another paint tone ... the crackle for sure with wax will camouflage the paper attachment and look more natural like a painting. So many cool ideas 💡 I would absolutely love to see your finished piece so please share with me when you are finished ... no rush , the process has to be the best part , the fun part!! 💙😉 Thank you so much for your kind words and comment... it truly means a lot to hear you have some good value from the tutorials 👍🏻🤗

Gosh! l like your video.....you are straight forward, simple, quick, easy to understand. One question.... l may have missed your explanation; the picture you glued to the mirror...would that be your own self photo copied from internet, etc..... or is it a purchased print?

¡Hola! 🙏🎨
