How to decoupage a glass vase - botanical inspired enhancing!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I am not sure why, but when it comes to displaying artificial flowers/foliage I don’t find the stems in the vase attractive. My way to resolve the issue is to decoupage the exterior of the vase with lovely printed paper serviettes. It's super easy and the best part is once you are over the print, a quick soak in hot soapy water and the decoupaged surface simply washes off!
Things to gather:
- Glass vase
- PVA or Mod-Podge glue or Decoupage finish glue
- Paint brush
- Printed paper serviettes

Thanks for sharing. You have transformed a plain glass vase (that really does not have any character) with your own creative touch which bring beauty to any room Your beautiful vase also brings some wonderful conversation as well. I also like it that there is never 2 identical when you are creating it yourself. For those folks that don't know that you can also print (using your own printer) most any image from the Internet onto white tissue wrapping paper.. You cut the tissue paper alittle bigger then your print paper and tape the overlapping piece on the back side of the printer paper, you want to be sure all edges are taped down as you don't want the tissue paper get caught up in your printer. Printers work differently as you want to do a test run of a sheet of printer paper to see which side the paper prints on which I would make a X with a pencil or pen on the side of paper that will be facing upwards and insert the paper back into the printer and do your test run. If the printer prints on the same side the X is on then you want to be sure that your tissue paper that is taped on the printer paper is facing upwards. Then go find an image on the Internet that you want to print on the tissue paper. Some images are protected copywrite which will have a watermark on the sheet when it is printed out which you can use as long as you are not using the image on a product you are selling. If it does have a watermark image, you can tear that section out and use the other part of the image for your own personal use. If you are using tissue paper that has no images on it; ;your can also crumble up the tissue paper prior to applying it to your surface which make a nice effect as well.
Now this is really nice and different. I also like the gold band around the top as well. I'm going to try both ideas.
This is absolutely an amazing idea! Love your crafty videos. Wonderful effect for this vase.

Hi Kelley, I'm a bit over the top about these things and really need to let it go, but visually the stems are not appealing. Keep safe Astar

Ho Carol, isn't the fabric beautiful. It's a cotton print and it has traveled the years of wear magnificently. Kind regards Astar

@@AstarsPlace It's beautifull I also like your yellow and black flowered dress with the black trim. They fit so well I suspect you made them both.
