Best video ever. I’m a buy,buy purge. Always adding new decor. I have cubards and many totes of beautiful decor. Love to change out themes. Lots of holiday decor. Now that I’m older it’s hard to manage it all this video helped me.

This was very fun and your timing is perfect! I’m 55 and reconsidering most of my decor, even though it’s beautiful. I just have too many styles going on and I’ve been wanting to simplify. I have 10 Christmas totes, 3 autumn/Halloween and four miscellaneous. I also have a 5 bedroom house and decorate each room. I’m exhausted! For 2020, I only decorated the living room and kitchen through the holidays. So much better for me ❤️ Time to reduce the scale and simplify. Thank you 😊

I completely agree with you, Shelley. I’m 54, and after my divorce a few years ago, I purchased a small townhome. I still had tons of decor from my almost 3000 sq. foot house, that was way too much for my new place, so I’m constantly decluttering the stuff I’d had from before. Plus, since this is the first home I’ve had where I can decorate just for me, there were some changes I wanted to make. It’s a work in progress, but the key for me has been letting go of the ideal of having everything decorated for every single season. It’s a lot of work to do that, and I’d rather focus on other things, anyway. Progress over perfection has been my new motto!

@@daynad8104 I completely agree! I’m divorced too. It’s just my son and me. This house is too big and I’m really enjoying scaling back and decorating for me! A small townhouse feels blissful! Happy decorating and enjoying this time for yourself ❤️

Great video! I saw that ‘word art’ isn’t cool anymore and I started to feel like I need to make some updates with my wall decor but then I looked around and I love my home and current decor. I’m thankful for what I have and I’m content.

I’m trying to declutter our home and start living with less stuff. You are right I’m having trouble minimizing my decor and not making purchases just because. Shopping was my hobby, I’m trying be hard to hold my self accountable to only buying things that I actually need. Thank you for this video 😊!

Good video. I agree about moving things around and using what you have it’s also fun to DIY things into new things like spray painting them are changing them up a bit, at least I enjoy that. 🥰

That's so fun! I'm certainly not a collector of it. To be honest, I didn't even know the brand and had to look it up just now!! 🤣 Just enjoy the few pieces my grandma passed down to me. They remind me of her so they will always have a special place in our home at Christmas.

@@thesimplyorganizedhome3277- it all started when I gave my Mom her first house of the Original village, and she became obsessed. I didn’t have any, until we took a trip to New England one October, and I saw the New England Village pieces. I bought it mostly as a souvenir from that trip, but I think my Mom was excited that I found a Village I liked, so she bought me more pieces. It used to sit on top of my cabinets in my kitchen. It was on display, yet out of the way.

Very good video but would be better if you include pictures to give us better visual of what you're talking about. Thank you for taking the time to make these excellent videos.

I’m moving and I really want to start over in my new house. I fall into the category of way too much in my house and in storage and none of it feels like my style anymore. I have so much guilt over getting rid of all of this stuff that is perfectly fine.
