I have two employees I've had to have multiple talks with about this very thing. I'm baffled as to why I constantly have to repeat myself. I've had them go in on the weekend to fix what they've neglected to do during the week, if our weekend staff has to call me about whatever it was they dropped the ball on. I've had to write one employee up over it. Sadly, I have to micromanage both of them. One is a millenial and the other is Gen Z. I'm GenX so I seriously loathe having to do this, and hate having to repeat myself. They have the tools they need to do their job... they just need someone looking over their shoulders, and constantly following up or checking in with them throughout the day to make sure they're doing what they're supposed to. I guess being GenX, I'm used to being given a task and just getting it done, without my bosses having to babysit me.

Oh my gosh - I could have written this. It’s like there’s no pride or accountability; if I’m corrected I’m darn sure remembering to do it as instructed/correctly the next time. But nope! Or they do it correctly when you’re overseeing but the next attempt they forget everything you showed/told/and they did. I swear it’s gaslighting lol

I feel like when I read this my thoughts have been written by someone - I have this exact same issue and exact same team setup! I sit until late evenings tidying the tasks up thinking if I do this in the morning they’ll hit the ground running and actually I end up the next evening sitting and rinse repeat - more often than not I feel like if I just terminated them and picked it up myself whilst it would stretch my capacity it would do wonders for my stress levels!
