Love these type of videos. Very informative and just what I needed to identify some Lee jeans I picked up at an estate sale. Keep it up!

I found a pair of Lee's today and went on a search of the interior of the pants for washing information, etc. I found the union stamp and ended up doing a deep dive via the internet. It's cool to know world history in relation to the production of clothing and how clothes from almost 60 years ago are still in circulation due to the secondhand shopping.

I'm not so much in finding "vintage" per se, but good quality second hand. I do encounter signs not mentioned in the video. My tips are generic for any jeans. First country of origin. I know made in USA is definitely a good sign, there are other to-have countries like Mexico, Canada, Tunesia, Hong Kong, anything Eastern Europe... Second important sign: fabric. 100% cotton is still used, but RARE today. So always check the fabric. You don't want spandex in jeans anyway If a website is mentioned on a tag, you know it is post early 2000s. And sometimes they just make new vintage.... A Lee Drew or Stella in 100% cotton is quite unique, and no vintage alternative exists. Nice high waist A-line is killer.

Thanks bro, this helped me identify that a pair of bib overalls one of my sourcers brought me is from the 1960s, which significantly increases the resell value for them. Costed me under $4 for this nice find!

Does anyone know anything about the blank lee back patch? I have a pair with a smaller, blank back patch and was wondering how old they were or if they’re some modern line they made.

I purchased a pair of Riveted by Lee jeans at the thrift store the other day and I was curious about their age. Now, I have a year range! Very cool. Thank you!

I believe Riveted by Lee began in the late 80s, though I more commonly find them from the early to mid 90s. Cool find! Thanks for watcing!

Is they a different with the color of the lee logo on the back pocket, they seem to all be yellow and mine is red

I was really wondering the difference between the Lee riders vintage jackets about 70s versus the modern version because I’m in the market trying to decide… I saw a more modern premium edition as it says in a tag and it’s apparently using Japanese denim or Japanese manufacture. I’m not sure but it looks like a modern jacket because it says rider 101 on the tag, I’m not sure what that retails for but it’s between that, or the more modern 101 that retails for about 300 or a 1970s vintage I like a slimmer fit I have a more athletic build 17 1/2 shoulders 39 chest and I’m shorter 5-6” 31 waist, so I’m not sure which would fit best and since I’ve never owned one of these jackets, just wondering if you can give me any information or do a video. Just found a pair of black Rangers with a leather patch. It might be from the 90s I think

I bought a pair of Lee jeans with back pocket logo that just reads Lee TM. No leather back patch, no lazy s on rear pockets. They have a flared bottom and lots of leg twist. It has a care tag that is almost illegible. No remaining Union Label. Any idea of age/value?

Can anyone help the lee logo on the back pocket has a red background on the jeans I have like red levi logo, all the other lee jeans logo is yellow I can't find a red logo anywere.

I had a reproduction that I bought in the 90s that had the Lee branded cow skin on the back….

Hi can you clarify something for me, at 4:45 in the video, regarding LEE (trademark) MR logo. You said "older than 1970" but the writing on the screen suggests they are "newer than 1970" so is Lee trademark MR pre or post 1970? I have an odd one for you- I have the leather back patch that says Lee with the symbol. It has care instructions & made in Egypt. I’m guessing they are newer but I think they went back to the leather & older logo on some. These jeans look 90’s style to me. (Embroidered with a flower). Any clue with the ‘made in Egypt’?

Yes, it's quite possible they used leather at different points afterward. it After the mid 90s it became more common to see vinyl or poly patches, but rarely if ever before that. Lee has gone back and forth using the OG logo as throwback look. Thanks for watching and sharing! Thanks for watching!

I've found a very confusing Storm Rider with a neck label suggesting 60's (based on Heddels article on the subject) but the chest pocket tag screams 70s with the R and the MR on the same line, oddly enough. Any idea ?

The closest i’d say is the 60s Lee Riders. They have a good straight fit similar to the 501. Thanks for watching!

I have a Lee Storm Rider blanketed jacket, strips are verticle. No hand warmer pockets with double pleats from pockets to waist. It has a union ticket sewn in the front pocket. Small black plastic flat buttons for the waist adjuster. What era would you say it might be from??

I've recently bought lee riders jacket. It has corduroy collar like storm rider jacket, but it doesn't have that lining. I'm confused because it has a completely different tag than any shown in your description, but other parts look authentic like signed buttons and Lee M.r. pocket patch

I found a possibly vintage pair of lees that have a metal back pocket label. Any clue if they are fake or when they were made? The wash label says they were made in Canada but all other labels have been ripped out/off.

Yes, they phased out USA production around the NAFTA years in the early 90s when they dropped union work.

I have a vintage lee jacket but im not sure of its age. Its sherpa with a lee tag with the M.R. It does have a Levi's interior label though so I'm a bit confused. Though I'd give a shout for some help.

I have plenty of single stitch tees that I'm selling. Also have plenty of made in USA crewneck sweatshirts I always seem to snag at Goodwill's. It takes so much motivation to take the pictures and list them. Still collecting though and will get motivated one day. You should be at 1K subscribers before the week is out. Keep it up man

all well and good but I think most of us are trying to identify garments from the 1990s and early 2000's

The 90's are vintage by definition. I have a pair of bells that are USA made with a pvc back patch. So I'm guessing they're from 90's which totally surprises me considering they're 70's style high waisted denim flare bells, not early 2000's low rise flare, bootcut, etc. So the pvc surprises me and is a little disappointing. Gen Xr's in the 90's did have a bit of a 60-70's hippy revival in the early to mid 90's. I'm guessing they were produced then. They're confusing. I also just found these mid-rise corduroy bells that have no back patch, have a metal lead branding tag, union/usa made (ugwa), the corduroy is fine like velvet not in cord rows. They're probably made in the 70's, unless they still produced bells into the 80's. Music was a little loud over your voice and also a bit busy, but the information is very helpful. Thank you.

I bought a denim jacket but the inside patch is made out of leather and cant find it anywhere online!! 100% cotton and its not the Twitch logo either :/

im in the UK ive been given an old Lee denim jacket. its about 35 years old. corduroy collar, thick heavy lining (maybe wool) and, Lee Riders on the buttons. its been well used and its got a lot of patina (i know thats not the correct word but y'know...) i just mean its really faded and got lots of cool lookin wear but not worn through anywhere. only trouble is the label says "made in Belgium" i really like the jacket but i just wish it was made in the USA

Just like most of the denim companies, the transition to overseas didn’t happen all at ounce. It was a transition that largely took place in the late 90s into the early 2000s.

Why don’t u do what no man or woman has ever done before you... show each pair of jeans as the label changed. Show the year. If an “Rn” is between a certain yr or years, tell us what the fuck the stinkin year is!! Aaaarrrgh! I don’t need a lesson in the history of Lee jeans. I need a year so I can sell the crap!

Never sell. Wear it. And donate it when you're done with it. Selling clothes is a waste of time. I do however support when the EU would require garments to have a date stamp. That would be very easy. It is common with most other products, but weird enough not clothings. RN numbers are crap, they are more an indication of era than year.
