I do like how the mid victorian polka was considered to exuberant to the edwardians and wouldn't even be considered trying in terms of the German style polka I was taught as a kid.

choreographing a modern dance with a dark victorian theme so this is helpful for position change ideas

I find this beautiful. I'm living like a Victorian when I'm older for sure.

I'm planning on making a resort that revives the secrets of the past. The Victorian era would be one of the Cultures I want to represent. So if you guys want to go to a place where you can dress like that and people not think you're weird. That's the goal.

It would be helpful to know which decade of the 19th century is being featured in each dance. I'm just as interested in studying the fashion as the dance, because it seems the styles changed rapidly in the antebellum era. Like many others here, you guessed it, I'm a writer looking for historical accuracy.

About every decade there was relative change---see 1) books 2) video channels Such info is rather easy to find, including decade by decade Victorian upper class (at times others classes) fashions videos + books. Good luck!!!

It's 9/2022 and I'm sitting here looking into everything Victorian for a story I'm not even sure I'll ever finish, lmao
