How to Dance 1920's Squat Charleston - Solo Jazz / Swing Dance

Squat Charleston is one of my favorite steps to use in performance, competition and social jams. Evita and I have discovered that it is quite challenging for students to learn because of how demanding it is rhythmically and cardiovascularly. We think this break down can help both novice and advanced dancers easily learn and perfect this difficult step.

Nice breakdown. These preparations would be good for shuffle and house dance too.

Thank you- one small critique: for your default teaching position, please face away with your back to us so our body can match your direction. Otherewise flipping everything you are doing in our heads is very hard for a beginner.

That's just amazing. It looks really hard! Thanks so much for sharing that you're wonderful. The kick step instruction is just amazing. Do they really call it the kick step? I wish I'd known that before! I was searching for that for ages and i finally learned it by learning the "Reverse running man" and by going back to tap dance steps although what I finally included in my faux historical dance choreography was exactly what you did. OMG that looks really iring but I love it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lnZ8k6ihhM_amrg.html
