    If I took a picture of my life everyday I’d have a journal full of pictures of me sitting on the bed watching KZread videos. Sometimes I think the only difference between me & a houseplant is the fact that I watch KZread😒😒😔😔...lol...Oh love the video by the way👍😊😊😊...

    haha we all have days (weeks*) like that, but I think you'd be surprised by the little moments tucked within those seemingly boring, ordinary days. Your life is far more important and worthy and valuable than a houseplant. You are so loved. Thank you for the sweet comment. And who knows, maybe journaling can be a new passion that gives you a boost each day to spend your time more meaningfully.

    Thank for creating this video =D Very inspiring. Journaling to me is an escape in a way. I get lost in the process of decorating and writing about my day. I may not journal every day but I do nine times out of ten. I look forward to journaling every day as well. Journaling helps me with my depression as I can write out how I feel or what has been happening in my life. I love how I can praise God in my journal if I want to and thank him or even do a collage on the things I love. Journaling can be so versatile =D

    Loved the tips. One of my goals this year is to start journaling daily. I love to journal, but I don't keep up with it regularly. I do have an app on my phone that I love called Momento. It works as a daily journal where you can add pictures and places. But it also lets you sync most of your social media accounts. So even if you didn't journal on a particular day, you may have tweeted something, or shared a post on Instagram or Facebook. So that would be another option for jotting down notes or things that you want to remember for when you want do some more creative journaling later. :)

I think like you said the main thing is like even fixing a cup of coffee and reading your bible and / or doing a devotion in the morning, or going for a jog, whatever your routine may be.. it’s all about just planning that time out and getting in a routine and then it will feel odd to not do it.. ♥️ Congrats to you on your engagement! I love this. So many amazing tips and such a relaxing video. I'm not incredibly arty, even though I would absolutely love to own a stunning diary full of beautiful artwork. I have to just embrace the fact that style of journalling doesn't work for me. I journal for emotional release and to preserve precious memories. I use a lot of tip-ins to preserve photos, tickets, postcards, etc. This year I bought an A5 1 Page A Day diary and will try to write in it every day. I'm so excited to see how it fills up over the course of the year. I write in a one-line-a-day diary and have noticed I tend to stop writing around the end of May until the end July, which is bizarre. I'm going to try and keep my routine up this year and see if I can beat the creative lull. Happy new year! I hope 2019 brings you every happiness. x

    I’ve started journaling and my life isn’t very exciting at the moment but that’s okay because I’ve noticed that a lot of what I write is the antics of my pets and I think that recording those memories is really special. One day when they are gone I will have a record of all the silly things they got up to. Things I might have forgotten otherwise. I started journaling for a lot of other reasons which has been helpful but the pets thing wasn’t intentional. It just happened organically because they are so special to me and a huge source of happiness and love.

    For me, my big tip is one that might be a bit uncomfortable for a lot of people. Take your journal with you where ever you go. The worst thing you could do is not have it on you when something amazing happens. I use a travelers notebook from chic sparrow and I can't leave home without it. I take it to work, to my parents house, to my friends house, EVERYWHERE.

    Near as I can tell, I have about 10 to 12 blank journals that want to be filled. One style I'm considering for journaling is to write entries in the second person. My thinking is that if/when I read the past entries, it will read like letters or disputations to myself. That is, as if the journal is doing the talking or instruction to me (or the person reading my journal). I guess this method of journal writing makes sense.

    Hi Dora. Yes, it happened to work out that I filled four whole notebooks in a year, so it basically was quarterly. I used the moleskine cahier books in large (I'm going to use the XL size in 2021 though). They're linked in the description of my videos and in my amazon shop. :)

    Bibiana, I want to encourage you to just track your days to see what's going on. Maybe you feel depressed on certain days and you may realize you eat certain foods that day that may add to it, or maybe you have a dream of something you want to do at some point in your life. Write down that goal/dream and break it down into smaller steps that would be required to make it happen. Schedule smaller steps in your days and slowly chart your progress. 1 drop of water per second every day will erode a rock over time. It may seem like a painfully slow process for the water droplets, but it's in those slow moments you reveal your endurance and resilience and you notice your resolve is strengthened. Let it flow, let it flow! ;)

    Dear Kelseyleigh, I absolutely love your videos!!! I started journalling at the start of the COVID pandamic, to document that weird time and to show myself that we still had a good time even staying inside with all the restrictions. I usually just write with some photos here and there. But now I want to start a special winter journal documenting some great times I spend with my family and kids over the past few years and I am at a complete loss how to go about it... How to make a cohesive journal with lots and lots of different photos. I saw that you are going to participate in #12daysofjournalling and wondered if you have some tips. I love the prompts and they are quite similar to what I had in mind, but also including our Dutch Sinterklaas, the birthday of my son, days in the snow and maybe even a small valentine's day entry. Looking forward to your entry on December 6th! Thanks in advance!

  • @MyAbidingJournal

    @MyAbidingJournal

    That’s so fun you’ll be participating! And love that you’re always making it unique to you. I think just trying to not put pressure on it is key. You don’t need to follow every prompt or fill up a whole journal with only winter memories of make every page cohesive. I think just enjoy the process and take it all a page at a time. A good way to make things a little more cohesive is to pick up some stickers or pens in a similar color palette. Have fun with it and document your memories-that’s always what’s most important ❤️

    Good question! Not at all. Jotting down notes is just to jog my memory later; for some people, that might be the only form of journaling they need--just a few key words to remind them what happened--but for me, I enjoy the fun and relaxing component of creative journaling when I incorporate the art aspect. Since I can't always find the time to do that every single day to my heart's content, it helps me to take little notes so that when I do sit down and journal I can make sure I don't forget important details. Whether notes scribbled at the end of the day or an entry I spent hours pouring my art and creativity into before my words, ultimately my journaling--in any form--is a reflection of me, and what's more genuine and vulnerable than that 🙂

    Hi there!! I really like your videos, but i find it pretty distracting and stressing to look at all the stuff behind you, as a minimalist that much stuff exposed to you camera is very very stressful, but since i like what you have to say, i just listen to your voice, which is the oposite of your background, so soft and relaxing, you should do meditation vids, cause ur voice is really sweet and calming. Thanks for all the tips given in this vid, will take some of those and apply them to my journaling!! Xo marce.

    hahaha. Believe me, all my stuff is stressful to me too. I'm in a transition period and live at home so all of my belongings are cramped into my tiny bedroom. I get married in May and will be moving out and getting to spread all of this stuff out over a whole house and I can't wait! lol. Glad you like my voice and tips though!

    What are some other quick Journaling prompts you would recommend similar to three things you are grateful for? That was helpful.

    I just meant that after having created many entries, I've learned what I like and what I don't, and so when I go to create a new entry, it's almost like a formula of what to do...for instance, a collage of a few photos with stickers to accent it, the date written using my numbers stencil, a handlettered phrase, and my journaling on a tip-in...this is a basic "formula" for a type of entry that I use a lot...essentially, through practice you might learn that you like A, B, and C together...but maybe don't like X, Y, and Z. Hope that helps!

    Journaling and time...my two cents on that, the Bible says that Mary had it right and told Martha it would not be taken away from her...be a Mary in a Martha world!
