Some people rate Doi Inthanon as the hardest climb in the world. Rising 2565m over just 39km, this mountain is Thailand's highest point.
Personally I didn't like this climb at all! I suffered something rotten with the altitude and my 12.5kg gravel bike, and found that the lack of almost any beautiful views and the car park at the summit meant that cycling up here was memorable only really for the pain!
The last 10km are vicious, with some super steep pitches, and the incline is relentless at points. But, heck, I did it!
In this video I give training tips about how to prepare for this climb, and also how I tackled the Beast of ChiangMai on the day too.
Done, dusted... next!
