How to Cyanotype Print on Paper by Daisy Bow Craft

Want to know some basics around cyanotype printing? This video outlines some tricks and tips I have picked up over a few months of experimenting myself with preprepared paper. I sell prepared paper via Etsy www.etsy.com/uk...

I am not a professional, but know I have achieved great results so I can share the things I know.
This video will help both a beginner and someone who has already tried cyanotype printing before. It is aimed towards paper printing but some of the rules apply to fabric printing too. I mainly cover printing with flowers and plants. I make and sell prepared paper via my Etsy so thought my customers might like a how-to video to refer to.
I sell this paper on Etsy, in easy to use kits. I also sell finished prints.

I’m fairly new to cyanotype printing but love it already. I have watched a tonne of YT videos on how to do it but your was by far the best. It was highly informative and incredibly inspirational too. Thanks for taking the time to make it and share your passion and skill!

Lovely video, Daisy. One tip I could offer is check the frame you use does not have glass treated with UV protection as this will drastically reduce the success of the exposure. This is one of the few instances where the cheaper option is usually the better one.

Ps You are so lucky with your South African sun - it is so wonderful for cyanotypes ☀️. In Northern Scotland we need a little more patience to get the same results as you do. Still worth it though!

Thanks for sharing you knowledge and experience. I have just received a Jacquard cyanotype kit and you have provided me with some great information and I can’t wait to experiment, we are in our winter here and it is a little overcast so I think I might wait for the warmer and sunnier weather to print.

Unfortunately too many people think art isn't technical and knowledge based, but all just spontaneous feelings and magic. Obviously not the channel or activity for you. Just buy stuff and learn from all your mistakes instead. Problem is, if you don't have the patience to watch a short video, you're likely discouraged by the inevitable mistakes you'll make not listening to people who share their tips and technique.
