    it's not possible to have honest people in govt. they are all paid off by whatever corp needs favors, and they are all too happy to comply. if by chance an honest person gets in who won't play ball, they will be ostracized out of the position, attacked in their personal life, maligned and prosecuted for false crimes. look how they got rid of trump for starters. you are on your own, never forget that.

    Thanks to Dr. Lustig fighting for the health of Americans. I agree, once you stop eating sugar & watch for hidden sugar in processed foods & beverages that will help you stop sugar cravings. Also, we need to reduce bad microbiome that make you crave sugar. The best & fastest why to accomplish that is fasting. I agree to Dr. Lustig that it is ok to eat desserts, but limit to once per week. Want to eat desserts or drink alcohol is very different than need to. Being healthy is the most important things for us by eating healthy. Eat whole foods as much as possible. I always buy Plain Yogurt & add fresh fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries or raspberries. Just don't buy yogurt with added sugar. I like this video. Learn new knowledge from Dr. Lustig each time. Thanks.

    Grow as many of your own fruits and veg as possible! 20% of Americans being addicted to sugar is pretty darned optimistic! Everyone I know is. Maybe that's the SF City effect. Here in the midwest, they put sugar on meat to grill and use sugar with cabbage and sugar in the form of marshmallows on sweet potatoes (which are so sweet already I can't grasp why.)

Question 2: Is the chemical sweetener "Acésulfame potassique" (Ace-K?!) a dangerous element of some nicotine replacement therapy 'mints'. My own home made smoothies following a holistic doctor recipes have obvious fiber that I need to chew while drinking because they are made of fibrous vegetables and not blended at high speed (my blender is cheap lol) So although commercial fruit smoothies may be akin to juices, home made greenies are still healthy ;)

    Dr. Lustig always talks about how he's ok with fruit as long as you eat it whole with the fiber, and gives a sugar cane as an example - it has more sugar than anything, but it wouldn't hurt you if you also ate the stick that has equally huge amounts of fiber. No one eats sticks, just like no one eats the peel of the banana, or of an orange.

    I truly would love it if a person knowledgeable in the subject matter and words used would proofread the Transcript. As it is, with admittedly somewhat poor hearing, I have to sowly go through the entire presentation at least twice, comparing what I hear to what the Trancript reports, and then I have to make a lot of corrections. While they were proofreading they could also insert markers to show who was speaking at any given time marker. This is a selfish request, of course. Still, all the time it takes me to try to correct a Transcript is also time spent reviewing the material, so it is a good study habit.

    Thanks for posting this great video. One thing I noticed - Dr. Lustig emphasizes the importance of fiber in our diets, then advocates bacon and eggs for breakfast, which have essentially no fiber. Also, bacon is a highly processed food. I have a cup of organic rolled oats with berries, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, cinnamon, and about 14 oz of non-fat milk. There is no added sugar, although I do add half a banana and a few raisins to give it a little sweetness.

    Cos most people try to avoid meats and eggs (or egg yolks), or go vegan entirely. Whilst he does recommend organic grass-fed bacon and pastured eggs, he definitely doesn't mean that's what you should strictly go for every breakfast time. He definitely advocates for seeds, nuts, and plant-based foods just as much, if not more. Also btw, he doesn't recommend lowfat milk, nevermind non-fat, cos companies tend to replace the fats with ridiculous amounts of sugar. He advocates for sugarfree full fat milk.

    @@salvatoretavormina5656 i believe, from what Dr. Lustig says on his seminars, it comes down to the process, how low fat milk undergoes through more than the regular nonfat. Although, i actually did get a bit off topic... in regards to his advocating for bacon and eggs bit, they were comparing it to having sugary breakfast cereals and whatnot. A satiating protein-rich breakfast is always the way to go👍

    @@jalydavi Have you even bothered to look at the nutrition labels on a container of milk? Instead of repeating what other people say, why don't you look at the nutrition labels and see for yourself? I don't know what type of milk you buy, but where I shop 1 cup of full fat milk has 12 grams of sugar and 0 grams of added sugar. And 1 cup of non-fat milk has 12 grams of sugar and 0 grams of added sugar. In terms of bacon and eggs, I agree it is better than a sugary breakfast. But a sugary breakfast isn't the only alternative. Even better would be salmon with eggs. And a breakfast that is high in fiber, high in protein, low in added sugar, and has no processed meats is way better than bacon and eggs.

  • @jalydavi

    @jalydavi

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@salvatoretavormina5656 well had she come up with salmon and egg as the suggested alternative to a sugary breakfast ofcourse Dr. Lustig would have seconded it a hundred percent. But on a whim she proposed bacon and eggs, and that isn't bad either. Bottomline was, no to sugar, yes to fiber. She could have come up high fiber plant-based protein-rich food, not bacon, not salmon, and it would have been great too given that bit of discussion was pointing to sugary breakfast. And as for milk, low fat milk undergoes processes that full fat milk doesn't. Plus, full fat milk contains more saturated fats, keeping you satiated for longer. However, saying that, it doesn't mean I'm demonizing low-fat milk. After all, to each their own.
