HOW TO CUT & GROOM: the Jelly Roll Pompadour a.k.a. The Elephants Trunk
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Due to popular demand here it is... Another step-by-step of how we work at Schorem Haarsnijder & Barbier. We said it once, we’ll say it again, we are NOT saying this is the only or the best way, it’s A WAY and the only reason we post these is not for our personal 15 minutes of fame or glory but because we seriously hope they may help other hair aficionados with little tips and tricks to on how to or maybe not to improve their skills with classic cuts. Today we showcase one of the haircuts which a rich but slightly mystical history, the Jelly Roll Pompadour a.k.a. The Elephants Trunk as made famous by the notorious Teddy Boys..
This cut comes in many varieties but the most common is a cut with quite some lengths on the sides and in the back usually combed into a D.A. with a bit of a mullet left on the collar. Most Teds probably never went to barbershops because well, back in those days most barbers would go to short and it was the longer hair that shouted: “Fuck you, I’m a rebel” and cut it themselves and funny fact, I used to cut these LONG BEFORE I even went to barberschool... Enjoy!

My grandfather used to style his hair like this in the 1950's there are pictures of him and my mom has a baby with, His hair in a pompadour or a jelly roll. And he kept his pompadour up until the day he died. He was a bad boy and he wanted everyone to know it. He was also a big teddy bear, and one of the sweetest man you could meet.

With the prison aesthetics the buzzing sound in the background made me think someone was getting a prison tattoo xD Love the cut! Shout out josuke
I love the full length tutorials!!!! Keep them coming brotha!!! Love the classics , it gets old when every video is a bald fade.... we all know how to do a skin fade, we need more videos on the classics
I was apprenticed by a former Teddy Boy. He said that he joined the Army and went to war in the jungle, for reform. Absolutely the toughest and nicest individuals I had ever met. 😎

I’d kill for that gents head of hair!! Seeing this jelly roll reminds me of the great Bo Diddley video of “Roadrunner” with all the Teddy’s out of their minds dancing! Great tutorial as always Rob!
My dad was a Teddy boy in Birmingham UK ..Rode a BSA rocket bike. I have a pictute of him with his hair like this in the full gear...Good stuff.
I FUCKING LOVE THESE CUTS ! holy shit , finally someone with ATTITUDE and not everything having to be straight lines and pink biebers and blue biebers ,FUCK yeah
For men who didn't give a shit about a lot back in the days they must of took a lot of time doing their hair tbh

The lens aperture was set too wide open and created a very shallow field-of-depth. The camera person needed to set the aperature at around f/8 or f/11 and set the exposure at 1/30. For a tutorial video, it's best to keep things simple. Otherwise, the artsy fartsy camerawork becomes too distracting.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I thank you so much for really taking the time to teach every part of this cut from beginning to the finishing and the explanation of why and how is perfect!!! I’m completely grateful!!!
This was a great video. I love your knowledge of the history in these haircuts and that you do share some of that with the cut. You are a true hair artist.
Your videos are the reason I have a pompadour. Keep up the good work and keep being masters of your craft.

FUCKING AWESOME ROBERT THANK YOU X 1000000. and dont stop man there'll always be haters, thats the way it is. hater fellas marry hater bitches and have hater kids.
I love all your haircuts. I live in Detroit and it reminds me of the 50s style hotrodder car gang's back in the day. These guys were bad mother fuckers in the day. I am now a hot rodder now and love these old hair cuts. These are the most stylish and bad ass cuts ever. Thanks for sharing and keeping them alive.
A total work of art.Best tedd i've seen in years.
I always enjoy you guys! Thank you for the Rock N Roll attitudes and sharing your experience.
You are the reason I am in Barber school right now!!! Thank you for the inspiration!!

I have a good time and learn a lot. Thank you for everything and hope to see more videos like this 🔥🔥🔥
Excellent videos, you are awesome, please do not stop making them 80% of the skills I'd develop, come from these videos. Don't let anybody take your happiness dude, keep going foward
Coming from a barber cutting completley different hairstyles than the ones you guys do over there... I completely respect your craft. It takes more than just fading and clipper work to be a well rounded barber. And the craft that you do the correct way of adding defenition and removing bulk from those parts with the precise techniques makes you a hell of a barber. I salute you and all the Schorem barbers that really take pride in your work. Thanks for the great show brother. 🙏💈💪🏼
Amazing Work.. i watch these daily to give my hair some style every now and then
You’re my favorite barber! It would be so dope to take a trip and meet you and the rest of the shop one day! Always happy to see a new video from y’all!

Excellent! This is art with passion, vision, and performance by the Artist.
Love your technique and I was taught a different technique to get the same result and when you do it it just seems I’m changing my technique to the way you have done. Thanks Awesome video
This is the best. I love the way y’all cut hair.
Another great haircut! Love the videos guys, keep them coming!
Amazing. Love the end result.
Schorem!! For 6 years up till these last few, it was these videos on repeat tryna get my hands on Reuzel and having to settle for Dax because my country's location wasn't a major help to those shipping taxes. Grew the hair out beyond the mullet stage and now its just too-long hair. No early mornings with the quiff roller, sniffing product between my palms anymore. Miss the days, wanna make a comeback to them too. Lots of love for the Lard fam!
Wow, amazing job. I’m sure this videos that you made are gonna make me feel more secure when I put the hands Behind Chair. Wherever beyond power you believe putting blessings in you wild men!!
Absolutely amazing video, thank you so much, great work sir!! Wishing you all a happy new year 2020! 💕💈🎉🎉🎉
