How to Crimp Your Own RJ45 LAN Cable
Making your own LAN cables can be a cost-effective way to get the exact length you need for your network setup. However, it requires a few specific tools and following the right steps to ensure a reliable connection. This guide will walk you through the process of crimping RJ45 connectors onto your LAN cable.

It can still be cut evenly using a cutter
Tools and Materials:

Ethernet cable (Cat5)

Steps:
Cut the desired length of cable.
Use the cable cutter/stripper
Separate the four twisted wire pairs inside the cable.
Untwist each pair for about ½ inch (1.25cm).
Straighten out all the individual wires as much as possible.
Organize the Wires by Color Scheme:
Pin 1: White/Orange
Pin 2: Orange
Pin 3: White/Green
Pin 4: Blue
Pin 5: White/Blue
Pin 6: Green
Pin 7: White/Brown
Pin 8: Brown
Insert Wires into RJ45 Connector:
Check the sequence of visible cables
Hold the RJ45 connector with the clip facing down and the metal pins facing upwards.
Ensure all the wires are pushed all the way in, reaching the base of the connector.
Crimp the Connector:
Insert the RJ45 connector with the wires into the designated crimping slot on your crimping tool (usually labeled "8P" for 8-pin connectors).
Squeeze the handles of the crimper firmly to crimp the metal contacts onto the wires.
