TIP: reduce one step by SCORING first (if cutting first, it requires scoring two times). This will be a great intro series for new crafters!

I’m not a newbie stamper but I still love to watch to learn some tricks and tips. The layering with the labels on there is a great idea. I ALWAYS forget the sizes.

I just stumbled upon your video. The tips you gave for cutting card stock is so helpful. I’ve always tried eyeballing it before which is impossible to get completely even. I look forward to watching more of your beginning videos and others that you have on KZread. Thank you.
Thank you Brandy. I still have your red and white printed guide on the layering and still use it after3 three years
Thank you!
ditto on not a newbie I like to review tips etc when I haven't stamped for a while also handy when working with a newbie. Thanks for the refresher course
First time I've watched your video. Totally impressed. Would like to receive a catalog and order the trimmer. Never made a card before, but after watching how step-by-step you demonstrate, I just may give it a try. 😊
This is great thank you brandy. xx
This was just the video I was looking for when I started stamping! I just needed the basics! Unfortunately for me I was watching women in the UK and Im in the US and it took quite awhile to figure out why my measurements were off! 😁 Im excited about this series!
Thank you so much for your very helpful video! I'll be watching and subscribing! 😊
Great for me been a beginner thankyou for the tutorial ❤
It was very helpful to me, since I'm used to metric system. Thanks for this tutorial!
This is very informative, I'm getting ready to start card making. I've started but cut paper in my own design. Thank you for this video
Thank you, you are teaching card making very easy for me now and I love the beautiful things you are teaching to make so many new cards I didn't know what to do with them, thank you so much. Best Wishes to you always too

Aww... Thank you for stopping by and for your kind note. I hope you found it helpful. Happy New Year!!
Hi there. I just subscribed to your channel. I'm not a newbie card maker, but your explanation on how to cut card bases by dividing in half made so much sense. Duh, I don't know why I struggled with this before. And I made my own template for the layering so I can quickly see how to cut my layers, including using a 1/2 or more border if I want. Thanks for the tips. I'm sure I'll learn more as you work through this series.
Great video. Being a newbie, I struggle in this area. Thank you.
Thank you for these basic reviews! Helps even some of us who have been stamping for a little while. Enjoyed the first one! Natalie Murdock
Good video, very informative.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it
Thank you so much Brandy. Showing the measurements made a little clearer of how to layer ur cards. TYFS!!! Be blessed!!! Looking forward to other learning tutorials.

Hello Brandy, I am glade I found this is great TFS because I did a card class for Women’s Ministry Feb. 20th. It was fun we made two cards.😊 Aloha and Mahalo since I am from Hawaii.
Thank you, thank you. Now I have correct measurements. New to card making.,
Thank you for starting this series. I would've loved to see a video like this when I first started making cards. All the terms were so confusing.
Thanks for the card cutting PDF! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I am not a beginner but like others have said, it's always good to refresh! Like Amy, I too am going to make my labels for my layers. That will speed things a long because I too forget sizes!!
Even though I have been making cards since 1998 this was very helpful for me!!! Thanks!
This is so exciting. I have been stamping for quite awhile and been learning by trial and error.

I like KZread KZread tube video's and your 10 cards in 20 min and the beginners serie
Hi Brandy, Even though I’ve been stamping a long time I still learn something from all of your videos, plus you are just so much fun to watch! What color is the cardstock in the smallest layer…coral? It’s gorgeous!
So helpful! I can create like boss, just struggle with the measurements. I want to prepare more for my stash, so it’s more convenient!
The brown off-set (3rd version) was my favorite. Interesting technique
I am new at cardmaking. Thank you so much for this series !
Hi Brandy! Muncie, IN
I’m not a newbie but this is great info. I remember when I was learning was the die cut machine… learning how to use at the different layers, I can’t tell you how many time I would ask and I just couldn’t remember. I think showing the steps of learning card making is a brilliant idea:) tfs:)
Hi Brandy from Janet in Kentucky. "thumbs up" given. I always find your videos super helpful! Thank you!!!

Awesome! Thank you!
Instead of scoring and ending up eith edges a tiny bit off.. With the arm closed and the cutterbar raised you can bump your card against the bottom and the arm then fold top down the press for the crease and the edges come out perfectly matched

Love that!! Thank u!
Thank you, I have trouble cutting the card base, I will that again.
Welcome Paula.
I always resist making cards because trying to figure out the sizes for mating is frustrating for me, being new at this. Thank you for this.
Hi Brandy, from Indiana
I'll have to rewatch on replay since I missed most of the live.
Great video. Could you explain the different Cardstock weights. And what weight you prefer. And soild core and not solid core. For card bases.
Thank you for this great video! Sometimes when I fold my card base, it won't be even on the side. I use the SU trimmer and scoring blade. What am I doing wrong?
It would always be great to end the video with a layering card/ example. Loved your video.
Brandy , love this series, but yes I get mess up with 3/8. 1/4 3/4 why can't we just do 1/2 , 3 inch, 4 inch I will be watching this one over & over Thanks
Glad i found you. Subscribing, too. Why do my cardstock when I cut them, they don’t come out smooth? It’s fuzzy. I am using Fiskar paper cutter. My white cardstock is 110 lb/300 gsm. Is it my paper cutter or my cardstock being thick? Your paper cutter has a feature to get a nice fold without creating a crease on the card? Pls advise. I am tuning in. Thanks
ok, I followed your video, stopped , start , hope I got it ,, mess up on 1/4 & 3/4 but look right, thanks so much
Thank you so much for this video! I’m new to making cards and have gotten so frustrated with making the base. My other problem is the paper cutter and knowing how to use it. No one has a video on how to use it. When I look at it, it has two markings for one inch. One on either side of the blade. Why is that?
Hi Brandy, I watched your video on cutting and layering card stock. You stated, we could go to the bottom of the video for pdf for the layering measurements...not there, I even went to your blog. I would appreciate any help you could give me. I see I'm not the only one that can't find it. ❤
BrandysCards does this paper trimmer not ship to Canada?
After decorating the front, what do you do with the inside. Great video 🥰

You can stamp on the inside corner or add a strip of cardstock to the side or bottom. Check out some of my other videos and you'll get some ideas. PLUS, check back frequently for new card ideas where I often do show the inside of the cards.
Hey, Brandy! Little late, but quite meant: Happy New Year! I'm jealous of you guys, A4 just doesn't make sense. It makes cutting layers so difficult, unless you start by cutting off a strip - what a waste! *I've used the strips for all kinds of things, but I make many cards, so usually have too many strips ...
Where do I find the PDF? Enjoyed the video!
Thank you Brandy. Am a senior card maker from UK and find my memory is often failing me. As our measurements are in metric and our normal A4 card is different size to your 81/2 x 11 inch card, find measureme to soooo confusing. Also confused because I have quite a bit of USA cardstock so find myself making lots of mistakes. Will copy your measurements and make myself some templates to keep from making so many mistakes. Back to basics is not just for newbies, some of us oldies find your basic videos really helpful as well. Thanks and regards from UK 🇬🇧
