I tried it without stay and it gave the same result..so i guess it’s the fabric

Lovely dress. The lapel is probably like that because of the kind of interfacing you used (paper stay). Try haystay next time, it usually comes out better. Thanks for the tutorial, it's very helpful

It is possible. Use hip measurements divided by 4 plus 5" use 1" to sew the sides.

My hip measurements divided by 4 is 13 inches plus 4 inches makes it 17 inches.
