Instead of soldering, can i simply use the "snap connectors" that I see others using?

If I want to power two 16.4 strips at once and want to use a controller like the sp511 can I just use a regular power supply adapter ? Or what do I need

Hi, if want to power two 16.4 strips, please make sure the power supply you choose is enough to power them(eg, one 16.4 5v ws2812b 300leds is 90W. One 16.4 12v ws2811 300leds is 72W) , and also pay more attention to the voltage dropping problem. @@huajialighting-official1706 I have the same issue, I have 2 WS2812B, but i can't get the 2nd one to go on. The power supply i have is BTF-LIGHTING AC100-240V to DC5V10A Max50W Suit 9A 8A 7A 6A 5A 4A 3A 2A 1A Device Transformer Power Adapter Converter with 5.5x2.5mm DC Output Jack for WS2812B. I simply plugged the connector into the first one, and expected it to light. I changed the # of pixels on the app to 600, but it doesn't work. I'm not sure what the issue is. Any help is appreciated.

Does anyone know how to identify the strip? I have a bunchy of these different strips and I can't remember the part number nor the voltage.

If your strip can’t not display multiple colors at once is the easiest way to tell. Those are called 5050. They are cheaper compared to ws2812b (NeoPixels).

Let’s say you are controlling it and putting a moving color effect on it, does the effect STOP at where you cut it at like it’s supposed to? Or will it take a few more seconds for the effect to restart and cycle back because the other end is missing?

Depends on the controller, not the strip!

@@das_radiergummi so if I use a esp32 and control it with wled… how do I make so that the effect ENDS exactly where you cut it at (last led) and cycles back?

@@mysticqro950you just need to know the amount of LEDS on the strip, for example you'll have a strip with 60LEDs/M (total LEDs on 5M are 300LEDs) and you cut it at 2.5M you will get 150 LEDs. That's the trick :)

All you need to do it entering the number of LEDs of your Strip. All effects will working like a full strip then ... (I use WLED btw.)
