As someone who has been using Nova launcher since 8 yrs, just having that app can increase your satisfaction and customisation options

I'd put Smart Launcher above all other launchers for the automatic category sorting alone. The fact that you don't have to do it manually and you can have it done for you, leaving you to just fine tune things is great. Grid spacing can't be as tight as Nova, for better or for worse, but the app drawer sorting is great.

I have been a nova fan and switched to smart launcher due to home screen bug and find that it's a real contender.

Been watching your videos since the Nova Launcher series, didn't have a phone back then, so watching anything related to customization nowadays in your channel is a treat.

I was hoping for a video like this but this is mastery level and I loveeeee ittttt🎉

@@ansanpsam I had switched from a Samsung phone. I still prefer the look of OneUI but NothingOS is definitely snappier and more lightweight. The animations are better too!

The problem with custom launchers is that if you're using gesture navigation, the animations are not fluid (especially while going in and out of apps or going home) while they are super smooth and dynamic on the stock launcher.

My guy looked like he came through the doors of heaven to bestow the sacred knowledge of decorating my phone in the first couple of seconds.

im using smart launcher premium and i can say its so good.

I use Niagara Launcher, it's perfect for one handed use and it is just so simple and elegant. Running it also on Zenfone 9 :)

Mmm It would've been worth mentioning that Modes and Routines, with Modes and Routines Plus, on Samsung phones literally lets you automate EVERY SINGLE thing you could ever do on a phone. You can run touch macros with the MaR+ module from Goodlock, which records whatever actions you do, and allows you to automate that to whatever conditions you set. My one gripe with MaR is that there needs to be more variables for controlling on and off conditions... but it's still really, really good... there is no need for ANY of the other apps he mentioned if you have MaR

@sambeckman I highly recommend checking it out... it's surprisingly comprehensive, especially when combined the MaR plus from GoodLock. But I do notice that your channel does seem to focus on independent, third party apps a lot, and you make them too, so I do understand if it's not really worth your time looking into MaR. I switched to android back just for the customization but oneplus killed it. You can't use third party launchers like you used to as it creates the annoying lag when you use the home gesture.

It's not that hard to do and One UI is minimal enough with a few easy tweaks without having to download anything. If you want something clean and well set up then you have to put some work in, that's life

​@@RSgaming1337 good lock works super well with One UI and gives you endless (not exaggerating) options to customise your device. From keyboard , notification shade to recent menu to lock screen. Everything. And it doesn't feels like it bloats my device. Definitely recommended

I think Xiaomi and samsungs let you do that natively

missing level: Lock Screen Customization. I remember old android versions used to be a lot more lenient in lock screen customization, like there are apps that can even change how you unlock your phone (from swiping, touch and hold, some elaborate gestures, etc.), change the image for unlocking (like pulling down a monster's tongue to unlock), and even automatic changing PIN based on time (like add 1111 for every hour & minute, for example if it's 08.35 then the PIN would be 1946) I get that those leniency were removed due to security concerns, but nowadays I think iOS is a bit ahead on this customization department. Maybe Xiaomi's HyperOS can provide some competition but I want them on base android.

I've used Nova Launcher for quite a while now, and it is quite light. Unless your default UI already lags, Nova shouldn't make much of a difference

Yep!

But all these third-party launchers don't support that smooth navigation gestures, which is handled by the system launcher. So if you are not rooted you don't get that full potential 😢.
